The Improvement Article of the Week is an old practice on Avatar Wiki that has been discontinued since 2009. The Improvement Article of the Week is being brought back in order to improve the wiki's articles that are still under construction, in need of help, or need expanding. Editors who contribute and improve the article during this week are rewarded with special awards and userboxes.
Rules[]
- Every Monday, an article on the wiki, old or new, will be chosen as the Improvement Article of the Week, which will be announced on this blog and through a notice template added to the top of the page. This article will be chosen by the Improvement Article Overseers.
- Users will have one week to improve the chosen article, correcting grammar, adding missing information, structuring the page, adding images when needed, etc. The goal is to make significant improvements and remember that quality, and not quantity, is what matters.
- All users are allowed to participate.
- Avoid submitting multiple, unnecessary edits that can be made in one. The number of edits does not matter, as only quality will be considered.
- Do not badge edit.
- Avoid adding unnecessary images that will only clutter the article and other previously added pictures.
- Syntax and grammar are key.
- Remember that references are necessary for every new piece of information.
- Remember that we have a Manual of Style and a layout guide that must be respected.
- At the end of the week (Sunday), the period will be closed and announced on this blog and by removing the "improvement" template from the article. All other edits after this will not be considered for this award, which does not mean that the article cannot still be edited or improved afterwards.
- All users who have constructively and substantially improved the article will be awarded with a certificate on their respective Message Walls and will be added to the Certificates List. This will be judged according to the criteria listed above. The users will be chosen by the Improvement Article Overseers: Dcasawang1 and TechFilmer.
- Overseers cannot get any certificates.
- Users who get a total of seven certificates on their Message Walls will receive the title of "Star Editor" and will be able to add this special userbox to their profile page.
- Users who get a total of fourteen certificates on their Message Walls will receive the title of "Grand Lotus" and will be able to add this special userbox to their profile page.
- New exclusive userboxes will be available for users who continue to participate after receiving this title and userbox.
