Two Fishes Northern Cuisine is a restaurant located in the Southern Water Tribe capital of Wolf Cove that serves dishes typical of Northern Water Tribe cuisine. Having opened its door around 102 AG, the restaurant cashed in on the untapped market for Northern cuisine in the Southern Water Tribe, as the difference in dishes, while subtle, could be off-putting to some Northerners.[1]

History[]

During the early phase of the Southern Reconstruction Project, the Two Fishes Northern Cuisine restaurant opened in Wolf Cove.

After Malina and her brother Maliq appointed Sokka to be a consultant on their construction crew, Malina invited him and Katara to join her, her brother, and Hakoda for dinner at Two Fishes Northern Cuisine, her favorite restaurant. Learning of this, Thod's disciples, two warriors serving in Gilak's nationalist army, infiltrated the restaurant by getting themselves hired as servers.

Stopping Thod's disciples

Malina tried to stop Thod's disciples from fleeing Two Fishes Northern Cuisine with the Southern Reconstruction Project plans.

While eating, the group was served by Thod's disciples, although they were unaware of their servers' true allegiance. To cause a distraction, the boy deliberately spilled a large bowl of soup on their table, and as they all rose to avoid being splashed by the scalding liquid, the girl server snatched Maliq's briefcase from under the table in the commotion. When Maliq tried to stop her, she hit him in the face with the briefcase and dashed for the exit, spurring Malina to bend water from a small, nearby aquarium and create a thin sheet of ice beneath the girl's feet, causing her to slip and fall. However, the server boy hurled the soup bowl at Malina from behind, knocking her over and causing her to hit her head on the corner of nearby furniture, rendering her unconscious.

As Thod's servants fled the scene, Sokka and Katara dashed out of the restaurant in pursuit.[1]

Layout[]

Much like the rest of the reconstructed Wolf Cove around 102 AG, the restaurant is built into a large ice building, with an ice staircase leading to the entrance. The inside of the restaurant comprises a large dining room with tables for multiple groups, together with a small, uncovered aquarium off to one side. The walls of the dining room include screens set with intricate designs, and a window to the adjoining kitchen enables food to be passed into the room.[1]
