Beta version[]
| Fade from black to a running Team Avatar. They stop in front of a group of Fire Army troops. | ||
| Prisoner | [Speaking up in hopeful surprise.] It's the Avatar! | |
|---|---|---|
| Spear Soldier | What?! | |
| Aang | [Addressing the Fire Army soldiers.] Let these people go, and you will be unharmed. You have my word. | |
| Masked Soldier | Ha! If you love them so much, why don't you join them? Guards, seize them! | |
| Team Avatar fights and defeats the Fire Army soldiers. | ||
| Sokka | Go team boomer-aang! Ehhhh... get it? Ha ha. I'm a genius. | |
| Toph Beifong | A self-proclaimed genius, huh? That sounds real smart. | |
| Sokka | ...Hey! | |
| Team Avatar goes on and moves into a Fire Army camp. Mongke appears to stop them. | ||
| Aang | [Shocked.] It's you! | |
| Sokka | [Grinning mockingly.] Yeah! What are they called, the Rancid Rhinos? | |
| Mongke | It's the Rough Rhinos! And we've been hired to guard this camp. But now we have a better job - capturing the Avatar! | |
| Team Avatar fights and defeats Mongke. | ||
| Mongke | [Falling unconscious.] Urrggh. | |
| Sokka | [Grinning mockingly.] Ha! The Rough Rhinos - that name makes sense now. You're good at getting "roughed" up. | |
| Prisoner | [Addressing Aang.] Thank you! Thank you so much, Avatar! I-I don't know how we could ever repay you. | |
| Aang | [Hesitantly.] I, uh... It was my honor. I'm sorry for what you have gone through. | |
| Sokka | [Addressing his friends.] We should go before reinforcements arrive. | |
| Fade to black. Next scene takes place at a small campsite. [Narration: Sometime later...] | ||
| Sokka | [Addressing the rest of Team Avatar.] Whoo! Another successful raid by Team Avatar! | |
| Katara | [Concerned.] Aang, are you all right? | |
| Aang | [Dejected.] At the prison camp, I was hoping to find our friends from the Black Sun invasion, so I could make up for not protecting them. But they weren't there... Even worse, I haven't mastered all the elements, or the Avatar state. How am I supposed to beat the Fire Lord and end this war?! ...I've failed as an Avatar. | |
| Katara | [Upbeat.] Aang, you haven't failed. Think about how much you've changed the world since we found you... | |
| Fade to black. [Narration: One year earlier...] Fade from black to a regional map, showing the South Sea. Zuko's cruiser is visible between icebergs. The camera slowly moves to the South Pole, stopping at the settlement marked as "Hakoda Village" within Wolf Cove. The next scene shows Kanna in the village. | ||
| Kanna | Katara! Sokka! [The siblings approach.] The stores are almost out of fish. Sokka, please catch what you can. Oh, and bring your sister. | |
| Sokka | [Frustrated.] Do I have to? She's always playing with her 'magic water', while I do all the work. | |
| Katara | [Upset.] It's not magic water, it's Waterbending! And it's- | |
| Kanna | Enough you two! Just stick together and make sure you don't stay out too long. | |
| Fade back to the regional map. The player can now click on a node at the "Village Shoreline" to progress the mission, leading to the next scene as Sokka and Katara are in a canoe. | ||
| Sokka | [Overconfident.] Watch and learn Katara, this is how you catch a fish... | |
| Katara | [Happily surprised.] Look Sokka! I caught one! Here- | |
| [Narration: SPLASH!] | ||
| Sokka | [Angry.] Why is it that every time you play with water, I get soaked?! | |
| Katara | [In panic.] Sokka! Watch the current! Go left! | |
| Sokka and Katara crash their canoe, ending up on an ice floe. | ||
| Katara | You call that left? There goes our boat and only way home! | |
| Sokka | [Angry.] Well, why didn't you just 'Waterbent' us out of the ice. And maybe we wouldn't be in this situation. | |
| Katara | [Angry.] So now it's my fault?! I can't believe you! | |
| Sokka | [Surprised at his sister's outburst.] Katara, settle down! | |
| Katara | No. Forget it! From now on, you're on your own! | |
| Katara unknowingly shatters the iceberg behind her, resulting in the chain of events which cause Aang's iceberg to emerge from the deeps. The siblings look at it in awe. | ||
| Sokka | [Shocked.] Okay. You've gone from weird to freakish, Katara. | |
| Katara | You mean I did that? | |
| Sokka | Yup. You broke the iceberg, and revealed something even weirder than you. Congratulations. Now let's stay away from it. | |
| Katara | But wait... there's someone inside... He's alive! We have to help! | |
| Sokka | Katara, wait! We don't know what that thing is! | |
| The scene momentarily cuts back to the regional map, showing how the iceberg shatters and a light beam shoots into the sky. | ||
| Sokka | [Confused.] It's just a kid... and some kind of snot-monster? | |
| Aang | [Happily.] Ha ha! He's not a monster. That's Appa, my flying bison. And I'm Aang! | |
| Sokka | Right... and this is Katara, my flying sister. I'm going home to where things make sense - Oh, right. No boat. | |
| Aang | [Enthusiastic.] If you guys are stuck, Appa and I can give you a lift. | |
| Scene fades to black. [Narration: Meanwhile...] Scene changes to the deck of Zuko's cruiser. | ||
| Zuko | [Shocked.] Did you see that, Uncle? Those strange lights - it could be the Avatar! | |
| Iroh | Zuko, three generations of your family failed to find him. What makes you think you will? | |
| Zuko | Because the honor of my forefathers did not depend on the Avatar's capture. Mine does. | |
| Iroh | [Resigned.] Helmsman, set a course for the light! | |
| Scene cuts to the regional map. Zuko's cruiser moves closer to Wolf Cove. At an area of the South Sea marked as "Shivering Seaboard 2", a new scene starts. | ||
| Zuko | Uncle! We must begin training immediately. | |
| Iroh | Another training session, Zuko? Even great warriors need rest. | |
| Zuko | [Annoyed.] There's no time for rest. The Avatar has had a hundred years to master the four elements. Now let's go again! | |
| A training match beween Zuko, Iroh, and some soldiers takes place on their cruiser. | ||
| Iroh | [Delighted and proud.] That's good, Nephew! Soon you will master it. | |
| Zuko | [Furious.] Arrgh! It's not enough. I need to master it now! | |
| Iroh | Zuko, you have come a long way. You should rest and celebrate what you've achieved. | |
| Zuko | [Resigned.] I can rest once I've captured the Avatar. | |
| Fade to black. [Narration: Back at the village...] Back at the regional map, the next story section is unlocked at "Hakoda Village". | ||
| Katara | Aang, come meet the people of my village. | |
| Aang | [Confused and somewhat embarrassed.] Uh, why are they all staring at me like that? | |
| Kanna | Because no one has seen an airbender in a hundred years. We thought they were extinct. [Saddened.] Even the Avatar seems to have disappeared from the world. The war with the Fire Nation has taken its toll. | |
| Aang | War?! What war? | |
| ??? | Braaahn! | |
| Aang | [Initially startled by the noise, then overjoyed.] PENGUIN!!! | |
| Katara | Wait Aang, where are you going?! | |
| Fade to black. The regional map changes, now showing a group of otter penguins near the village. The next scene begins, with Aang and Katara at the location with the animals. | ||
| Aang | Hey, Katara! I wanted to catch one of these little guys, so we could go penguin sledding. But it's hard! | |
| Katara | I'll teach you how to catch one, if you teach me Waterbending. | |
| Aang | Sure! But I'm an Airbender, not a Waterbender. Isn't there someone here who can teach you? | |
| Katara | [Dejected.] No. You're looking at the only Waterbender in the whole South Pole. | |
| Aang | Well, then I'll help you find a Waterbending master to teach you! | |
| Katara | Deal! Ready to go penguin sledding? | |
| Katara and Aang proceed with penguin sledding. | ||
| Aang | [Happy as he rides an otter penguin.] Hahaha! Yeah! | |
| The two end up close to the old Fire Nation shipwreck. | ||
| Aang | Man, that was- [He notices the shipwreck.] Whoaaa! Check this ship out! | |
| Katara | [Concerned.] Aang, wait! It's a Fire Nation Ship! We shouldn't go in. It could be booby-trapped! | |
| Aang | If you want to be a great bender, you have to let go of fear. | |
| They venture inside. | ||
| Katara | [Uncomfortable.] This ship was part of the Fire Nation's first attacks in the war. It's a bad memory for my people. | |
| Aang | Wait, back up! I have friends all over the world, even in the Fire Nation. I've never seen a war. | |
| Katara | [Shocked.] The war is a hundred years old! Were you really trapped in the iceberg that whole time?! | |
| Aang | [Dejected.] A hundred years... I can't believe it. | |
| Katara | I'm sorry, Aang. Let's get out of here. | |
| Aang | Okay... Huh? | |
| [Narration: *Clank*] Fade to black. On the regional map, a flare is fired from the shipwreck into the air. | ||
| Aang | What's that you said about booby-traps? | |
| On the regional map, the camera moves to Zuko's cruiser. | ||
| Zuko | That flare, it must be the Avatar! Set a course for the village! It has to be his hiding place. | |
| On the regional map, the camera moves to "Hakoda Village", with Zuko's cruiser now at the shoreline. | ||
| Sokka | Is that...? | |
| Kanna | A Fire Nation ship! It's heading straight for us! | |
| On the regional map, the village is damaged. The next scene begins in the village, with Sokka adorned in war paint confronting Zuko. | ||
| Zuko | [Shouting at the villagers.] The Avatar, where are you hiding him?! Tell me, now! Or you will be sorry! | |
| Aang | Looking for me? | |
| Zuko | [Shocked.] You're the last Airbender...? The Avatar?! | |
| Katara & Sokka | [Even more shocked than Zuko.] ! | |
| Aang | Look! If you promise to leave these people alone, I will surrender. | |
| Zuko | I promise. | |
| Katara | [Frightened.] No, Aang! Don't do this! | |
| Aang | [Smiling.] Don't worry Katara, it'll be okay. Look after Appa for me while I'm gone. | |
| Zuko | [Happy, addressing his soldiers.] Guards, take the prisoner to the ship! Set course for the Fire Nation! I can finally go home. | |
| Fade to black. On the regional map, Zuko's cruiser is moving back into the South Sea. The next scene begins, as Katara and Sokka discuss their options close to their village. | ||
| Katara | We have to save Aang! Let's- | |
| Kanna | [Calmly, as she surprises the siblings.] Sneaking off to save the Avatar are we? Good. He may be the last hope we have to end this war. And it seems your destinies are tied to this. Stay safe on your journey, my little warrior and waterbender. | |
| Fade to black. The next scene takes place inside Zuko's cruiser. | ||
| Spear Soldier | Keep moving, prisoner! | |
| Aang | [Addressing the soldiers guarding him, smiling.] Okay then... | |
| Masked Soldier | Wha-! Where did he go?! Find him! | |
| Fade to black. The next scene takes place on the deck of Zuko's cruiser. | ||
| Aang | [Suprised, as Zuko attacks.] Woah! | |
| Zuko | Nowhere to go. You're mine, Avatar! | |
| Katara | Aang! Up here! | |
| Katara and Sokka are seen, approaching Zuko's cruiser on Appa. | ||
| Aang | [Happy.] Hey! You brought Appa! | |
| Zuko | [Attacking again.] Haaah! | |
| Aang | [Shielding himself from the fire blast.] Ah! [He falls from the ship into the sea.] | |
| Katara | Aang! No! Aang! [Underwater, Aang triggers the Avatar State.] AANG! | |
| In the Avatar State, Aang returns. A battle takes places on Zuko's ship. | ||
| Zuko | [Shocked.] What...? What is happening?! | |
| Aang defeats Zuko's troops. | ||
| Aang | [Leaving the Avatar State.] Uhhhnnn-* [The scene temporarily fades to black.] | |
| Katara | Aang! Wake up! We got you. | |
| Aang | Uhn. Thanks for coming to get me. | |
| Sokka | We better get him out of here fast! Appa. Yip yip! | |
| Zuko | [Furious.] Ughn! They're getting away on that beast. After them! | |
| Spear Soldier | My lord, the ship is too damaged! | |
| Iroh | Do not lose heart, Zuko. In the end we have good news for the Fire Lord. The Avatar is just a child. | |
| Zuko | [Unconvinced and still angry.] And that "child" did this to our ship. I will not underestimate him next time! | |
| Fade to black. |
Version 1.06[]
| [Narration: 100 AG - Avatar Aang and his friends arrive at a Fire Nation Labor Camp in search of captured allies...] Fade from black to a running Team Avatar. They stop in front of a group of Fire Army troops. | ||

| Mongke | The Avatar!!? | |
| Team Avatar fights and defeats Mongke. | ||
| Prisoner | [Happily.] Thanks for taking care of that guy. I still owe him 50 silvers for losing at Pai Sho. | |
| Aang | [Hesitantly.] *Ulp. As long as our work is doing good in the world, I guess... | |
| Sokka | [Addressing his friends.] C'mon! We liberated one camp and we're one step closer to defeating the Fire Lord. That's enough reward! | |

Version 1.11[]
| Fade from black to Aang, Katara, and Zuko observing Fire Army soldiers guarding the entrance to some some ancient building. Meanwhile, Toph creates a sand model of a city. [Narration: Somewhere along the coast of the Fire Nation Colonies...] Aang notices Commander Mamushi leaving the building with an object in hands; as Zuko and Katara react, they accidentally destroy Toph's model, much to the earthbender's annoyance. | |
| Katara | [Addressing her friends.] We're too late. They beat us here. |
|---|---|
| Aang | There's so many of them. What can we do? |
| Zuko | I... dunno... But... If they get away with that artifact, they'll... |
| Toph | Ya, ya. "Dire consequences", "catastrophe", and all that bull shark. |
| Aang | Hmm... Zuko, see if you can snatch the box while Katara and I create a distraction. |
| Aang and Katara innocently approach the Fire Nation troops. | |
| Katara | Lalala... What a perfect spot for a picnic. |
| Spear Soldier | Hunh? |
| Aang | [To Katara.] Oh, yes... Those islands look so inviting, don't they? As if adventure is just waiting out there. |
| Zuko | [Attacking Mamushi suddenly.] I'll take that box off your hands! |
| Mamushi | Oh, no you don't! [Retakes the box.] |
| Start of a battle. [Narration: 100 AG - Team Avatar attempts to safeguard a sacred artifact in a Fire Nation Colony...] The Fire Nation force includes Mongke. | |
| Mamushi | It's the Avatar! Guards! |
| Zuko | She's getting away! |
| Team Avatar defeats the Fire Nation soldiers, but Mamushi escapes. | |
| Zuko | We had so much hope resting on that one artifact. |
| Katara | We didn't need the artifact when we started out, and maybe we don't need it now... We've got to return to that frame of mind we had when we started all this... |
| Fade to black. [Narration: Several months earlier...] | |
| The following interactions/events are identical to the Wolf Cove elements of the introduction in Version 1.06, seen above. |
Update[]
| At some point between versions 1.11 and 1.13, the dialogues in the Wolf Cove part of the scenario were updated. The previous interactions in the Fire Nation Colony are identical to Version 1.11, seen above. | |
| [Narration: Several months earlier...] Fade from black to show the South Sea, where Zuko's cruiser is visible between the icebergs. The camera slowly moves to the South Pole, stopping at the settlement marked as "Hakoda Village" within Wolf Cove. The next scene shows Kanna, Sokka, and Katara in the village. | |
| Gran Gran | Sokka! You ate your way through our fish stores. Go fill them up. Take your sister with you. |
|---|---|
| Sokka | [Disappointed.] Ugh! But Katara's always playing with her "magic water"! I get soggy just standing near her, much less stuck in a boat! |
| Katara | [Angrily.] I was just trying to wash the cod liver stink off of you. |
| Gran Gran | [Strictly.] Quit your bickering and get our people some fish! |
| Sokka and Katara move to the Village Shoreline, and the next scene shows them in a canoe. | |
| Sokka | [Overconfident.] Okay, fish. Where ya hiding? |
| Katara | [Happily surprised.] I found one! Stay still while I- |
| [Narration: *SPLASH*] | |
| Sokka and Katara crash their canoe, ending up on an ice floe. | |
| Sokka | [Angrily.] I knew I'd end up soaking wet. Why are you always so weird? |
| Katara | [Angrily.] I'll show you weird! [She unknowingly shatters the iceberg behind her, resulting in Aang's iceberg emerging from deep underwater. The siblings look at it in awe.] |
| Sokka | [Shocked.] Whelp, you certainly showed me. This is as weird as it gets. |
| The camera focuses on Aang within the iceberg, and then he opens his eyes. | |
| Katara | He's alive! We have to help! |
| Sokka | Katara, wait! We don't know what that thing is! |
| Katara uses a club to further break the ice. The scene changes to show the iceberg cracking open, releasing air sealed inside and a beam of light into the sky. The next scene shows Aang, still in Avatar state, standing on the edge of the iceberg before Katara and Sokka, who is pointing a spear at him. | |
| Sokka | [Shocked.] It's just a bald kid, and... some kind of snot-monster? |
| Aang | [Happily.] That's Appa, my flying bison. And I'm Aang! |
| Sokka | Right... And this is my flying sister. I'm wet and cold. Any idea how we're going to get home? |
| Aang | [Enthusiastic.] Appa and I can give you a lift. |
| Scene fades to black. [Narration: Meanwhile...] Scene changes to the deck of Zuko's cruiser. | |
| Zuko | [Shocked, addressing Iroh.] Those strange lights- it could be the Avatar! |
| Iroh | Zuko, I'm concerned. Last time you saw lights in the sky, you made the crew chase down a thunderstorm. |
| The cruiser moves in the village's direction to a point titled "Shivering Seaboard 2". | |
| Iroh | If you're going to face the Avatar, you must first master your basics. |
| A training match between Zuko, Iroh, and some soldiers takes place on their cruiser. | |
| Iroh | [Delighted and proud.] That's good, Nephew. Soon you will master it. |
| Zuko | [Furious.] NO! I need to master it now! |
| Iroh | [Calmly.] You should celebrate what you've already achieved. |
| Zuko | [Resigned.] I will celebrate once I've captured the Avatar. |
| Fade to black. [Narration: Back at the village...] Back at the regional map, the next story section is unlocked at "Hakoda Village". | |
| Fade to another scene. The nearby shipwreck is shown. [Narration: In a world torn apart by a hundred years of brutal warfare...] Cut to Katara and Aang happily going penguin sledding. [Narration: ...only the Avatar can restore the balance.] Cut to Zuko and his crew invading the village, leading to Aang's surrender. [Narration: The Fire Nation seeks to destroy the Avatar...] Cut to Aang facing a fire blast by Zuko. [Narration: ... to secure their ambition.] Cut to Katara and Sokka approaching Zuko's ship on Appa and calling Aang's name, followed by Aang falling from the vessel into the sea. [Narration: The Avatar must awaken...] Aang enters the Avatar State. [Narration: ...and fulfill his destiny.] Aang waterbends a vortex and rises above the cruiser. | |
| A battle between Aang (in the Avatar State) and Zuko's crew takes place on the ship. | |
| Zuko | [Shocked.] What...? Why is he glowing?! |
| Aang defeats Zuko's troops. The scene changes to show the ship being partially encased in ice. | |
| Aang | [Leaving the Avatar State.] Uhhhnn-* [The scene temporarily fades to black.] |
| Katara | [Worriedly.] Aang! Wake up! We got you. |
| Sokka | We better get him out of here fast! Appa. Yip yip! |
| Zuko | [Furious.] Ughn! They're getting away on that beast. After them! |
| Spear Soldier | Sir, the ship is too damaged! We're scuttled! |
| The scene fades to black and then shows Team Avatar flying on Appa's back. | |
| Katara | Aang... Why didn't you tell us you were the Avatar? The world's been waiting all this time for you to end The Hundred Year War. [Aang looks sad.] |
| Aang | [Nervously.] How can I possibly do that? I don't know how to be an Avatar. |
| The scene changes to show the world map, focusing on the Southern Archipelago. | |
| Katara | [Thoughtful.] According to legend, you need to master waterbending first, then earth, then fire. |
| Aang | [Enthusiastic.] We could master waterbending together! |
| Katara | It's settled- we're going to the North Pole to find a waterbending master! |
| End of scene. |
