For the love of Raava, no! Anything but that! Tahno was bad enough!
Here's a query, though: how do people Waterbend in spacesuits?
It would be interesting if the Earth Empire allied with the URN (kinda like NATO) and the Water tribes, while the FN would be its main antagonist/rival, and then most of it would be based upon the space race, arms race, fear of nuclear warfare (or maybe, spirit-vine based one), 50-60-70s(?) based music, while the Fire Nation would have red army choir/communist China sort of songs, Mao suits everywhere, a mix of culture revolution and Juche Korea (we're independent, we're isolated, siege mentality against foreign powers, that sort of stuff), mass games, military parades... you get the picture.
About that stuff on the Wolfenstein(the New Order) soundtrack, it just reminded me that an entire setting based on that would match perfectly the world at the time. Given that the Earth Empire unified most of the land, if the place is governed by their ways, we might get a setting similar to the game. =)
Hmm...you know, for some reason I sort of doubt it. I mean, granted, it's a good opportunity, but the Fire Nation's already caused enough problems, and besides, I'm holding out for some rogue Earth Empire states to form the Federation of Earth Socialist Territories on the Eastern Ridge (yes, FESTER).
But it would be quite interesting to see the FN back on the scene again. And they wouldnt simply cause problem, they'd be just a side against another one. Similar to the Cold War, where each side saw itself as righteous (political debate aside) and wanted to confront and defeat the other one. Also it would be cool to see two powerful factions going against each other, where there's no defined line on who's the hero and who's the villain. It would change the tradition of defining one side as good, another as bad on the show. (somewhat, they did that by comparing Long Feng run Ba Sing Se against the Fire Nation back at the war).
The authoritarian, fascist-styled powerful and mighty Earth Empire against the revolutionary, revolted, modern-leaning nearly fanatical anti-burgeoise, anti-superstition Fire Nation (People's Republic?). It could even result in several proxy wars such as the Empire defending a side and the FN defending another one, by supplying different factions (Korean war, Vietnam, the Balkans... etc).
Or a total war situation similar to ww2, when the USSR was invaded by Nazi Germany. It could be interesting to see the FN defending itself, as we'd get to see what resources they might use to fend themselves against such mighty opponent. [also, a "empire strikes back" brief sort of moment for those who like earthbenders lol xD].
I actually had something like that in mind for my Fanon. The Foggy Swamp demanding recognition as it's own nation-state leading to a Proxy war between United Republic Forces and the Remnants of Kuvira's Empire.
With the Fire Nation's merchants discreetly arming the Independents and the FESTER sending in its guerrilla bandits on airplanes? Could be interesting. But one would hope the Swamp would be trying to kill them by now, from the way it attacked the unknowing civilians of RC.
No he wrong, ATLA is acutally Clockpunk or almost Steampunk, LOK is Most of time Steampunk later switch into Dieselpunk in Book 4.
Nevermind to oblivous Book 4 is switching setting nearly to Dieselpunk for plot device.
Already dieselpunk by the beggining of LOK. now with the whole spirit-vine stuff, we got a fantasy version of atompunk, or anything atomic-age related, since that technology is their version of nuclear fission.
That was thinking as well, Put its possible that could used Biopunk elements could happen due in my theory that would if Harm Con. didnt mess up Non-benders with Airbending DNA for would could used Cybernetic implants to look like "Bending" and show is oblivous high (and later urban) fantasy series so that other reason, That would would been Cyberpunk theme show is unlikely never could happen of Impossible fourth series was ever happen.
