I dont know with you guys out there, but you have to admit that it's a pretty bad movie, not just pretty bad, i mean, it's terrible. Evidence 1, It's directed by M. Night Shyamalan, he has shown that he can be a pretty terrible director, we see that in The Happening, Lady In the Water and in his newest film After Earth, the only reason for the box office success was that it was starring Will Smith.
I dont need any more evindence, because i think everybody know that Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense is amazing, but he just somehow became a bad director over a time span of just 4 years (Unbreakable, 2000-2004, The Village)
On Wikipedia, TLA didn't make the cut for list of films considered the worst AND list of box office bombs. The same goes for After Earth. If you think otherwise, you haven't been around long enough to know what being whitewashed and molested by Hollywood is really like. Cry me a river. Bunch of pussies.
Don't know that the name calling is really appropriate.
I suppose you're entitled to your opinion like everyone else. I can tell you're a fan of the film and I'm sorry if my aversion to it offends you. My opinion of it remains unchanged.
Don't be sorry and don't change your opinion. Everyone enjoys their own cup of tea. But if you think The Last Airbender is worst thing that has happened to you then you have lived the life of luxury so you get no sympathy from me.

I take it you haven't seen Nostalgia critics review of the film?
@everyone else
in the event you don't really understand the issues we have with the movie I reccomend everyone check out Johane Matt's (rufftoon's) Last Airbender Spoiler page on deviant art.

The Doug Walker Review (which is 40 mins long) is found here!
He doesn't completely bash the movie, but he does bring up most of the points that the cartoon fans are angry about. Still, like TLA or not, his review is a good watch if you're bored one day. I thought it was hilarious and accurate!
From what I saw I honestly didn't like the film. It was just too condensed, the writing wasn't there for me, and some of the lines came off as forced. Of course this is coming from the guy who only likes one of the director's movies (Signs) and thought film Zhao was excellently cast.
I don't think It was the director. I think it was the actors, and the're personalities casted in the movie. Aang was DEFINITLEY not a goofy kid, like he was in the show. Sokka was DEFINITLEY not the sarcastic meat lover we all know. and Katara seemed less motherly, and more like naggy sister. plus, Katara doesn't have her hair loopies. It cast a dark feeling over the entire movie. Not at all the fun show that made me and my family laugh.
As one of the few people here (maybe the only person, I haven't seen anyone else admit this), who saw the movie before the show, I must be honest, if you've never seen the show and have no idea how good the show is, then the movie is good, but it will make you want to watch the show and after you watch the show, you'll look back at the movie and go "dahell was that s***? (turn back to the show) Man this is way better! The movie so didn't do this awesomeness justice." Then you watch it again, and you're like, "WTFITS?"
There was a mountain of epicness and detail lost in translation. Sorry. There just was. I mean the concept is good, but an hour or two is simply not enough time to cover everything that needs covering to do ATLA justice. They should have done two movies a season, and maybe done a little bit more to make the movie characters look and act like the show characters.
Also some personal gripes, drill helmets, lack of some of the shows most important and recurring supporting characters (Suki, Jet, Haru and Bumi), the guy who played Iroh looked like he should have been Roku and he lost his funniness, and I don't recall them even mentioning Roku or that Sozin's Comet was coming back around. Also the whole "They told me the avatar can't have a family" is EPIC FAILURE. That completely puts the kibosh on half of LOK as well as the whole FNRF redemption good vs evil internal struggle story line which was ONE OF THE MOST MAJOR COMPONENTS OF THE STORY.
Or at least that was my take on it. You're welcome to think what you like.

It's funny,because if you watch the behind-the-scenes video, Aang's actor is pretty goofy and always smiling.
Why the director had to change that into this serious, always close to crying, version of Aang, I can't understand,
