Slate was an earthbender and metalbender trained to lead a specialized anti-mecha police force in Republic City.[1]
History[]
After the invention of mecha tanks and later mecha suits, Slate began to lead a specialized squad of metalbending police in Republic City, known for their distinct outfits and fighting style. As a team of young earthbenders, they were trained to handle threats like Kuvira's giant mecha suit which trashed the city during the invasion of the United Republic of Nations. Mecha suits were considered to be a growing threat in the modern world.
After bandits in the Earth Kingdom began to cause unrest while making use of mecha suits, the rest of Slate's squad was sent outside Republic City to help deal with the problem. Slate was ordered to stay behind, and was put on leave as he prepared to train a new group of earthbenders.[1]
Personality[]
Slate was both confident and warm.[1]
Abilities[]
Slate was a skilled earthbender and metalbender who had a specialty in taking down mecha tanks and mecha suits. Like most metalbending police officers, he used metalbending wire reels on his wrists, hips, and ankles. Slate typically used metal bindings to catch the limbs of those he was trying to apprehend.[1]
