Iroh is a retired Fire Nation general and the brother of Fire Lord Ozai. After Prince Zuko was exiled from the Fire Nation, Iroh accompanied him on his quest to hunt down and capture the Avatar, acting as his hot-headed nephew's nurturing mentor.[2][3]

Personality[]

Though part of the same royal family, Iroh has a much more thoughtful and caring personality compared to the cruelty of his brother, Fire Lord Ozai. Where Ozai saw it as his destiny to conquer the world and finish the war started by their grandfather, Fire Lord Sozin, Iroh tired of the bloody conquest that had followed. He also showed much more care for his nephew, Prince Zuko, accompanying on his quest to capture the Avatar to act as his mentor.[2][4]
