hiiii i just wanted to say that i thinkthat sandbending should be it's own seperate article because metalbending, bloodbending, lavabending etc. all have their own page and not all novices can sandbend, ex. toph but if you have any more comments then just lmk please :)
Hey Aryaguptaa! I first of all want to welcome you to the wiki and thank you for the expressed interest in editing here!
Secondly, sandbending does not have its own page on this wiki, as it, unlike lavabending, metalbending, and bloodbending, was not shown to be such a special technique that only a few can do. By all accounts, every earthbender can sandbend, maybe one better than the other, but there is no official source saying otherwise. Sand is just a different form of earth (and unaltered as opposed to metal).
Quite the opposite. I'm saying it's unlikely to have taken that long for the survivors of the initial attacks to have been killed. In Sozin's will he already makes mention of failing to find the Avatar, so we know it didn't take 20 years to find non-Avatar airbenders. Adding any number of extra years after the initial attack is undue speculation.
I personally think that we should add that because even me an Avatar fan and Legend of Korra fan it got me confused because when I hear or read Amon, I think of the maseked dude not Noatak which who he was known when he was younger
Hey, so myself and some other users went through and were trying to verify some ages, it seems a couple are missing verification and since you were around on the wiki during the era when a lot of these were decided I was wondering if you could help?
Jet: Jet's age is cited as SDCC 2007, on his talk page you said that was what you thought the source was but in the thread people said it was missing from the video and transcript, did you ever get a clearer source on that?
For Jet, I don't recall pursuing the info beyond that. For Suki, if I said it then, it was probably there. I'd often check the site for info. There was a time I went ahead and basically created articles on everything the site had that we didn't have articles on. If it's not in the archive, either the text was changed before the archive was made (the original site did get neglected and buggy before Nick abandoned it), or the image was listed in a non-text way, maybe an image? Some of the info we have from there are descriptions of stuff in images. I've always been a stickler for sources, so I don't think I would have said that if there wasn't a solid source. No idea for the other other stuff, but it was probably the Nick site as well, that was basically the only source of information we had back then other than the episodes themselves.
Ah, I see. Hm, I thought that the text archive would have everything and I hadn't realized they'd been changing things. I wish there was a way to get back the archive of what it was before crashing because at the moment it looks like the only archives are of around the same time.
Hey there! I noticed you've undone my edits to File:Monks.png on multiple occasions, and was hoping to explain my reasoning, then let you decide.
Firstly, I believe we can both agree that at least two monks in that image are council members: Tashi and the unnamed, long-bearded one.
Logic-wise, the other two monks resemble two other members on the council not accounted for, and subtracting Gyatso, it would explain why there are only four, no more, no less.
The image is taken from afar, so we can hardly make out any of the faces or facial hair on the faces from that distance, so claiming Pasang is not present while Tashi is just from the image is a little hypocritical. "Tashi" could just as well be some other white-bearded monk by your logic.
Besides this, why would the writers of the series have any need to have the fruit pies thrown at anyone besides the council members. If anything, Gyatso did it for Aang to make him feel better about his responsibilities.
Now that I have provided a solid argument, I'm hoping you can see from my point of view. Thanks for reading!
Going to jump in here and say that I agree with Omni that the monk in the image is not Pasang. Yes the image is from afar, but the third monk very clearly has facial hair different to that of Pasang. On this basis, I would propose editing Pasang's article to remove that piece of trivia and switch any reference to the foursome as the council of elders to just monks. This removes any speculation on our part.
Yes, you can see the facial hair. The guy in that image has a thick, bushy mustache. Compare that to other images where Pasang's face is visible, like the one in his infobox. Pasang's mustache is very thin, completely different. Tashi's facial on the other hand, is consistent in all images. The trivia in Pasang's should be removed, and mentions of Pasang in other articles relating to that scene should also be removed.
