Bio An aspiring writer and self-proclaimed Dai Li agent who loves rambling about anything that's animated for the screen. Her powers are strongest during the most ungodly hours in the middle of the night.
Just passing through, but I just wanted to say your work on the Times is pretty incredible and quite inspiring for other wikiers. Actually built something very similar for fun, even though my wiki is dead, so I'm pretty much talking to myself anyway but whatever. XD Thanks for the cool concept, and fun for a few hours, and hope you keep it up. The newsletter is a really neat idea, especially if you have an active wiki fanbase.
Awh, thank you! (Pretend this reply isn't 3 weeks late) It's humbling to hear that my random style of writing has been a positive influence!
And I can relate with dead wikis. This sometimes feels like one with the user pool diminishing the longer it's been since the Avatar series stopped airing. It's funny you should mention talking to yourself as an author/blogger, because I've gotten way too comfortable with it LOL. The show goes on whether or not there's anyone there!
I wrote, out of (sort of) boredom, something that could be used as an article for the BSST (as the title suggests), but I'm not entirely sure as to whether there would be interest in what I'm writing about, and whether it could be that, maybe, that article... is a bit too long, I don't know. If you want to, you can check it out here.
Yeah. If there's any interest, just tell me, and I'll put the article into a form usuable on the wiki.
I would like to write a suggestion. Didn't find any 'submit a suggestion' button so I'll just write it here if you don't mind. In the latest Ba Sing Se Times Issue 67 there is a message from the editor, a little bit of vocabulary, some reviews, something from fanon portal, the puzzle, the secret valentines and so on, but I think it would be just great if in the future editions you would add some real life news related to series. For example, I don't know, latest interviews with the authors (maybe even about other topics), maybe some tweets or posts they make about the series, new comic announcements, comic sales statistics, comic or series reviews from famous sites like gizmodo or something like this that you could find online you know? But from the real world. That would be very interesting.
Hey there, so I just sent you the review I promised you (hope you're a believer in the phrase 'better late than never'), but it is a little longer than the last time. About 2000 words as opposed to 1600. I hope that's not a problem, if it is, let me know, and I'll try and slice a few off.
Hello there Minnichi. I saw your post for the December BSST and then I kinda stalked your profile and I have to say you seem super cool (and your art is so great ♥_♥). When I came to leave a message and I saw the little letter-surfing Dai Li Minnichi drawing on your wall, my art-loving side drooled. I wish I could draw like that! It's users like you that make this Wiki so fun. Anyway, enough of the fangirling because I don't want to sound overtly familiar, yikes. I just wanted to introduce myself because I'm new to this Wiki again after being MIA for a long time and I thought it would be nice to actually talk to some of the people who are really integral members here. If you ever want to talk, just hit me up! And if you ever need writers for the BSST, I would love to help out, just let me know. Greetings and nice to meet you.
Well hi there! Heheh, I'm glad I come across as an awesome person to you xD I'm flattered! I will tell you though, there's tons of users more awesome than me on this wiki. You should get to know this community! I always come back to mingle sooner or later haha. It's good to meet a fellow art enthusiast :D Do you have a page somewhere with your own drawings that I can drool over? heheh
Oh yeah, the BSST can use all the help it can get these days xD The community activity is low, but the show must go on regardless. I'm thrilled to meet ya and am curious as to what your article writing flair might be like ;)
Haha yeah, I'm trying to get around and meet some people on here, I just don't want to seem awkward and intrusive like, "Hi! Be my friend!" But in all seriousness, I need to do some networking because it's been ages since I've come on here and I don't know anybody anymore. >_<
I don't really post my art online (because I'm a bit shy, hehe) but I've been meaning to start a Deviantart or Instagram, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. *sweats* I think, when I finally complete a fanon, I'm going to try and illustrate some of it so I can kinda come out of my shell. ^^;;
It's such a shame that the community activity is down, but that's all the more reason to keep it up and going, to encourage people to participate more and whatnot. I can't wait to help out, and I'm open to writing about anything. When will the next issue come out, or is it on a schedule? I'm not very familiar with all of it yet. And how does the article submission process work?
Heheh you're all good, don't worry! If it seems like I don't reply often, it's not that I don't want to but that I'm always swamped irl and float in and out of this site @_@ I'm definitely sticking around this month for the BSST's Valentines event though. (Which you should totally send an anonymous valentine if you can, it's fun xD)
If you ever do start a deviantart account of Instagram art profile, do let me know! And DEFINITELY let me know if/when you get around to writing a fanon. That portal is where I truly thrive ;)
Ah yeah, I'm not going to deny that I miss our community's former level of activity, but something still brings me back every time. I don't mean just for fanon publishing either (I suck at timely updates there too xD) but I haven't lost my interest in this place!
Oh, you can find info about the BSST and its submission process here to get an idea where to start. We're scheduled to publish an issue on Valentine's Day this month, so a romance-themed article would be ideal if you're planning to write up a storm :P
