  • Hi KK. I just wanted to remind you to add the appropriate source and origin for your image uploads. The source will be the comic it comes from, and the origin will be a link to the website you found the image on.

      Loading editor
    • Ok thank you I'll make sure to do that! I bought e-books of some of the comics so how exactly would I put a link to those?

        Loading editor
    • You can just write Digital copy for the origin.

  • Hey, I'm sorry. I was just trying to add one of my favorite... Hybridized Animals from the world of the Avatar in my following.

      Loading editor
    • no need to apologize! :) i was just trying to make the article more fluent. in the future, if you scroll down all the way on an article there's a button that says follow and if you click it then you can follow the page without editing it :)

    • is the user group still active? since the last article that you were working on was "wan" but that was all the way back in 2017

        Loading editor
    • The group has been rather inactive for a long time, but as a member, you're more than welcome to rise up and change that :-)

  • While I understand your desire to help improve the quality of another user's fanon, such edits should only be made to correct things such as grammar or formatting, and not to add additional content that was not originally there. If the author gives you permission to add content then you can do so, otherwise your edits should be limited to corrections only.

      Loading editor
    • Thats fine! I totally understand why and I shouldn't have added so much, I just felt bad because their fanon was removed from the main page and I only wanted to help. I'm still learning all the rules of the wiki so I'm sorry again :(

    • I will never chastise someone for wanting to help another user, so don't ever feel like you have to apologise for that. I commend you for doing what you could to help, but in the end there is only so much we can do.

  • Hey. I see you're in the process of categorizing some files. When you do that, try to add the categories to the Imagebox template instead of doing it like any other normal article.

      Loading editor
    • Also, if you're going creating a 'The Lost Adventures images' category, files don't need to be under both "Water War images" and "The Lost Adventures images", they can simply be under "Water War images" only, and that category be under "The Lost Adventure images".

        Loading editor
    • I'll make sure to do that in the future! Thank you :)

  • Why isn't the "imprisoned villagers still being alive" not a goof? There was no clear or identifiable source of sustenance inside the cave. The prisoners' hands were tied up, meaning they couldn't eat. Moreover, the only person who seems to know of the place is Hama, prior to Aang's team finding them.

    • I don't entirely think it would constitute as a goof but more of a plot hole, since it wasn't a mistake on the animators part but more of an illogical circumstance. Since you have to use your logic to think about how it doesn't really make sense, but it isn't a mistake if that makes sense? :)

I'm not an expert on these kinds of things so you might be right! You can add the bullet point back if you want but that was just my reason for removing it :)

    • Sorry to interject here, goofs are generally only noted if they are either obvious animation errors or unexplainable plot holes. In this case, who is to say that Hama didn't feed them sometimes or perhaps she indeed left them to starve, but people can survive quite some time without food. There are several plausible explanations, which prevents it from being seen as a goof.

Just out of curiosity, what did push you over the edge sort of speak to join our community?

    • Well I was still very young when ATLA came out, but I remember that I would watch it on Nickelodeon every day after coming home from school! Eventually I got confused with some of the plot and I decided to look it up which brought me to Avatar Wiki! So after I would finish watching an episode, I would read the synopsis's that this wiki had so I could enjoy the story in more depth (haha I guess I was always an Avatar nerd). I watched Avatar and TLOK twice more after that, in the following couple years. Then I finally got much more busy with schoolwork and studying for exams and so I put Avatar in the back of my mind for a couple of years and completely forgot about it. So then when my school closed down for coronavirus I thought i was browsing through tv shows to watch and I came across avatar again! I remembered my passion for it and decided to come to the wiki to read all about it! Then I discovered that there was people that were long-time editors and contributors to the wiki. I guess before that I never really realized that actual people had to type out all of the information that I was reading! So I decided that I wanted to add a page that they didn't have, but i had to create an account for that. My page really had no place on the Avatar Wiki (but I didn't know that at the time haha), but I eventually started contributing more and more, and eventually I started doing grammar edits which I soon discovered to be something that I really enjoyed. My school recently implemented online school because of the pandemic, so instead of having a plethora of free time, I actually had to do work, but I still kept contributing and managed to balance the two! And that brings us to the present!

Sorry for such a lengthy paragraph, but thats basically how I got started :)

  • I just wanted to give an explanation on why I restored the thread you removed. We have a policy on the wiki that all threads should be kept for archive reasons, except in very particular situations (such as threads used to attack other users).

Let me also add a big thank you for all your hard work on the wiki. It is great to see a new user get stuck into editing, and it is very much appreciated.

    • that's fine! i just thought it was a little irrelevant because there wasn't much new information so i realized that a page for Koko would be redundant/uneccesary

and you're welcome! that means a lot to me haha
