Hi, there is a thread that might need somebody to keep an eye on at least. Somebody said that I have 0 IQ and called me a jerk. I'm not asking for any immediate action to be taken but I would appreciate if somebody kept an eye on it. [].
Hello! I wanted to ask if you could take a look at the Standards Council page. The nomination of "Fire Army" is still pending approval, and "Jianzhu" might have passed the time mark to be promoted. Thanks in advance!
Hi there! Also not HoT, but if you were referring to the images towards the top that are clearly not from the show OR the comics, I can confirm that they're from the new Legacy ofthe Fire Nation book being released.
It's no problem! They definitely do look a little fanart-ish, and I did a double-take at first because it was the first I'd heard of it. If you ever want to check the source for some art, there's a little 'i' that appears in the bottom-right corner when you hover your mouse there. All art is sourced and licenced on this wiki :)
Hey HoT, appreciate you clearing up the voting for potential replacement of Sokka's profile image. However, I'm not sure the 'proposal #3' is the one that was supported by several people initially. When FireFerret added several other options, they put 'my vote is for 3' which I'm fairly certain is actually referencing Proposd Replacement #5 (based on the paragraph written as rationale for choice). Zacatero also expressed support for "Proposal #5" explicitly. I think the only options that garnered support were 'SokkaProposal1.png' ("Proposed Replacement #3") and 'SokkaProposal3.png' ("Proposed Replacement #5").
I think it might be optimal to remove the 'eliminated' options, so to speak, and start the discussion *anew* with those above options. So the options would consist solely of current image, "Proposed Replacement #4", and "Proposed Replacement #5". Also because considering it's one of the most important article images, I think the massive amount of reasoning (hence lots of text to read through) currently present is a bit of an obstacle to some editors adding their perspective. Also, as I wrote above, the reasoning was somewhat ambiguous in terms of which image was being referenced. I don't think there'd be any harm from people restating their rationale (even copy-pasting) but more concisely with the structured format of the 'poll' you made. That's rough, buddy.markus1423 (talk) 04:50, August 27, 2020 (UTC)
Also, I'm more than happy to do the grunt work of rearranging that and moving the old votes lower down. Or at least removing the parts which were discussing the mechanics of adding additional images, which are no longer of relevance. Just let me know either way, didn't want to start moving prior discussion without consulting senior editors first. That's rough, buddy.markus1423 (talk) 04:52, August 27, 2020 (UTC)
We don't remove parts, especially of discussions, even if they are not explicitly 'relevant' to voting.
That being said, I don't see why we had to limit it to only those two. There were a number of proposals, and should be no issue with just... letting people clarify which of the five they wish to vote for.
I went through the discussion and made a note of how each person had expressed their support, including when someone had initially expressed support for one image but then changed later on. My reading of the support was, current to proposal 6, 3-1-1-2-0-1-1, which I checked several times. FF stated that their support was for three, which was taken as proposal #3. We always refer to proposals by their numbers in this manner, so I do not see that it was incorrect.
Restarting the discussion part is unnecessary; the discussion happened and there was no clear consensus, so moving it to a vote is standard procedure. Users are still free to debate the merits of the proposals being voted on or justification given, but restarting just lengthens the process unnecessarily.
The reason to limit it to those two was to get a clear consensus on whether it should be changed, which we did not have from the support votes. Having 6 proposals serves only to split the vote, and therefore I felt, after discussing with other users as well, that limiting it to the two most popular, current and proposal 3, would be the best way to garner consensus.
FireFerret within the initial paragraph referenced '1' with respect to proposal #3, so I don't think the '3' at the end was proposal #3, but #5 as stated above. In any case, yes, asking directly would be much easier. It would also avoid any issue of splitting the vote by determining which depiction was actually desired, considering we don't have a ranked voting system.
Could you also clarify what your reading of support was? I'm a bit confused as to what the "0" is referencing? I would assume the current image, but there were 3 votes for that option (HoT, Tono, Lostris), which would lead me to guess the "1" in your record (occurring 4 times) is the current image. Again, in that case, I don't quite get what the 0 would be. I'm just a bit confused what's being represented there, or perhaps I'm misreading it. In any case, if you could just quickly clarify what those numbers represent, that would be great.
Hello, I noticed that the Layout Guide does not have information on how to layout sections in chapter pages. I think that this addition would be helpful to refer to as Kyoshi chapter pages are created.
Hello HammerOfThor! I'm not sure if you remember me from before my inactivity but I am happy to see that you became an admin while I was inactive. Congratulations!
Anyway, I just wanted to make sure that I haven't been out of line on the Zutara and Kataang thread. I just wanted to demonstrate that were was more to my opinion that thinking that Zutara looks good and that we weren't delusional when thinking that Kataang was forced on Katara's side since that had been mentioned since the start of the thread. I know that I did not personally attack anyone but since this is the internet and people are reading text it is possible to come off as condescending without meaning to. I had an issue as well over five years ago. I realize that I may be deviating from the topic without meaning to and am willing to create another thread elsewhere if you would prefer. I was just trying to have a civil debate.
I would also like to thank you for keeping an eye on the thread as I had a feeling that it was going to escalate in that direction soon since some of the users were getting quite emotional. I of course do not think that any action needs to be taken immediately but it is always a good idea to keep an eye on threads that get quite heated.
Your comments on that thread look to be fine; whether another user took your comments as condescending I do not know, but my perspective is that they are not. There is no problem continuing the thread where it is so long as things remain civil. I will continue to keep an eye on things, but if you do feel there is an issue or a strong chance things will get heated again, don't hesitate to let me know.
There is no need to become insulting. Your page has not been deleted, it can be found here - Fanon:Avatar: The Wrath of Shin. I simply renamed it to match the title case format you had in your article.
If the content is intended to be a chapter, I would suggest to make an individual page for it. Thus, the main page would be a general overview of your fanon, with each chapter on an individual page.
I would like to propsose a meme section to the Posting Avatar Wiki: bit. I would like to do this beause people have started to post memes on General and I think it would keep the Wiki more organised. I know that the wiki has added a polls section recently, which is cool, but I think it will be good to add a meme section.
