Meeka is a veteran of the United Forces who currently works with repair and construction crews around Republic City.[1]
History[]
Meeka was a young soldier in the United Republic Army when Kuvira and the Earth Empire invaded Republic City, having joined up because she thought it was her duty to protect her home. When the attack came, Kuvira's enormous mecha forced General Iroh to surrender without a fight.
At that moment, Meeka deserted, knowing she had not done what she joined up to do, and began trying to fight the invaders from within the city. But after she fought off an entire squad of Earth Empire soldiers and saw the damage she and her foes had caused, and saw how she destroyed people's homes and stores, she started to doubt herself. In the aftermath, she realized how much more valuable her efforts were for rebuilding — and how much more difficult rebuilding would be. Protecting the city, keeping it from harm and repairing what damage it suffered, helping people — these things all came to mean far more to her than being a soldier.
She started working with repair and construction crews in the city since the invasion, and made herself a trusted and valuable member of her crews while volunteering in the wider city and doing everything she can to improve the lives of Republic City's people. She was still ready to fight if need be, but she would rather build, repair, and defend.[1]
Meeka met Bolin on a team where he protected a train depot from saboteurs, working together with Erdene, Qacha, Thi, and Dae to resolve the situation. After this incident, Bolin asked to meet the five again for a quick noodle lunch at Dancing Dan's Noodles near the Varrimovers International Studio. He explained that the production of new mover Sengo: Lady of the Winds was having problems, and that he suspected that benders were endangering the set. Being busy as President Zhu Li Moon's personal assistant, Bolin asked the team if they could do him a favor by handling security for the mover production.[2]
Personality[]
Meeka is a compassionate and hopeful person who wanted to make the world a better place by defending, healing, and helping. She could also be quite a lonely individual.[1]
Abilities[]
As a waterbender, Meeka often fights with ice spikes that are flung through the air or thrust from walls and the ground.[1]
