Lisa Edelstein is an American actress and playwright who is best known for her role as Dr. Lisa Cuddy on the medical drama series House, M.D. She provided the voice for Kya in The Legend of Korra.

Biographical information[]
Edelstein began her professional acting career while studying theater at N.Y.U.'s Tisch School of the Arts. After performing in a wide range of productions on and off Broadway, she authored and performed the AIDS-related musical Positive Me at Ellen Stuart's La Mama, in Manhattan. It was one one of the earliest AIDS-related theater productions.
Edelstein gained her first television experience in 1990 as a host of the cable series Awake on the Wild Side and has since taken on a wide variety of roles, including a call-girl girlfriend on The West Wing, David Conrad's sister on Relativity, the transgender girlfriend of James Le Gros in Ally McBeal, and an Orthodox Jewish woman in Family Law.
