Jung Shan Chang, also known as Rola Chang, is a Taiwanese ink illustrator who drew the cover designs for The Rise of Kyoshi, The Shadow of Kyoshi, and The Dawn of Yangchen novels, as well as the art featured in the Barnes & Noble exclusive editions of the books.

Chang also drew artwork featured in the European release of the Avatar: The Last Airbender Blu-ray collection,[1] as well as the Avatar: The Last Airbender calendars for 2022[2] and 2023.[3]

Biographical information[]

Jung Shan Chang started her contributions to the art industry as a freelance illustrator, doing so in her free time while employed as an office worker at a technology company. Her drawings take inspiration from both Chinese and Western styles, combining Asian and contemporary techniques and using Chinese ink, as well as digital pens and brushes in Photoshop.[5]

Trivia[]

  • Chang is currently learning the Japanese martial art Iaido.[6]
