This article is about the prison guard at the Boiling Rock. For the female prison guard at Capital City Prison, see Ming.

The female prison guard was a guard at the Boiling Rock who had gained experience working in the prison by the time of Zuko and Sokka's arrival there, the former referring to her as a "veteran".

History[]

Shortly after Sokka and Zuko infiltrated the Boiling Rock posing as guards, the latter made his way to the prison's lounge. There, the female guard and two other guards were eating at a table, one of them telling Zuko to take off his helmet and relax. He replied that if there was an incident he could be struck in the head and the guards laughed. The female guard said he will loosen up after a week and Zuko inquired whether he could ask them a question. She dismissively told him he cannot date the female guards and one of her colleagues jokingly assured the disguised prince that he would not want to. She threw a cup at the man in anger, hitting him in the head, while the other guard at the table laughed. Zuko proceeded to ask them if war prisoners were brought to the Boiling Rock.

The female prison guard fighting Zuko

When the guard wanted to enter Suki's cell, Zuko tried to stop her, resulting in a fight between the two.

Later, Sokka and Zuko got to the cell where Suki was being held. Sokka went inside to talk to her, while Zuko stood watch at the door to let them know if actual prison guards arrived there. The female prison guard came and told Zuko she needed to enter the cell. He attempted to stall her until Sokka got out, telling her that the prisoner could sneak up on her while the lights were off. However, she told him to step aside and, when she was about to shove him, Zuko grabbed her arm and slammed her into the door. She also pushed him back against the door as they began a scuffle. Sokka exited the cell and the guard asked him to help her, but Sokka hesitated, unsure of how to react, until he knocked Zuko to the ground, whispering that he will figure out a plan. She and Sokka then proceeded to take the prince to another cell.

After Zuko was taken to a cooler because he firebent and Sokka went to free him, they hid inside the small chamber as the female guard and another guard passed by, discussing the arrival of new inmates. She asked the man if anyone interesting would be brought to the Boiling Rock and, among other people, he said that war prisoners would also be detained there. Zuko and Sokka listened to their conversation, thinking that the latter's father could also be one of those prisoners.[1]

When Sokka went to talk to Zuko again, now imprisoned in a standard cell, and let him know about the escape plan Hakoda and him had come up with, the female guard and a colleague walked there and she said they had orders from the warden to take Zuko somewhere else. Sokka lied that he wanted ten seconds to beat up the prince, to which she agreed as she folded her arms and smiled. He went inside and told Zuko the plan before she and the other guard took Zuko to a cell where Mai was waiting for him.[2]
