Zuko Stays in Ba Sing Se is a Fan-Fiction story created by Shroob12 as an alternate Universe of Avatar the Last Airbender. It takes place after the Coup of Ba Sing Se as Zuko then resides in Ba Sing Se as he leaves his uncle Iroh to the mercy of his sister. It is the first episode of User:Shroob12/Avatar: The Phoenix War.
Plot[]
As Iroh sits in his Ba Sing Se jail cell, two guards lament the tragedy of the Fire Lord's own brother being treated in such a way. Zuko, although for a moment having seemed distraught about the his uncle's treatment, berates them for saying such a thing about a Fire Nation traitor and orders them to get back to work. Later on, he visits Azula in what was the Earth King's throne room hours earlier. She tells him that the arrangements have been made for them to return to the homeland and that they will be headed there by the next night. Despite Azula's assurance that Ba Sing Se will be left in good care with Long Feng and Joo Dee at the helm, Zuko asserts that he will not go and storms out of the room.
Azula, believing that Zuko is making things difficult, visits Ty Lee and alerts her of the situation. With the knowledge that Mai and Zuko had childhood crushes on one another, Azula reveals to Ty Lee that getting them to know each other again will solve their problem. A while later, Azula is commanding a few Dai Li to set a dinner table for two. When Zuko and Mai arrive, although knowing they have been tricked into eating together, sit down and begin to dine. Zuko notes that the food is similar to that prepared in the Fire Nation and orders the instrument player to stop. He and Mai leave the table after Zuko points out that Azula and Ty Lee are spying on them.
While walking through the streets of Ba Sing Se, Jin recognizes her old date "Lee", which is the name Zuko used on his night out with her. In order to avoid an awkward situation, he says that Mai is simply the knife thrower from the circus. Apparently intrigued by this fantasy, Mai decides that she will demonstrate her skills for Jin by throwing a pointed icicle through a fish resting on Zuko's head, which she accomplishes. When Mai offers for Jin to try it herself, she does so, but misses the intended mark and sends Zuko toppling into the Firelight Fountain.
Zuko then walks away with Jin as they decide to run the Jasmine Dragon Together. Mai seeing just leaves furious. Meanwhile Mai returns to Azula and says she failed to get Zuko to return to the homeland, to Azula's anger. However Azula mentions how unfortunate Iroh is and that he may not survive the trip to the mainland. One of the Fire Nation Guards that Zuko yelled at in the prison then states that Zuko don't give a damn about Iroh anymore and left. The crew then goes on the ship and they leave for the Fire Nation without Zuko who is now the owner of the Jasmine Dragon with his new wife Jin as they do their best to opperate in the Fire Nation ruled Ba Sing Se.
Characters[]
- Zuko - The Banished Prince of the Fire Nation who then restored his honor and imprisoned his uncle during the Coup of Ba Sing Se. Zuko then decided not to return to the homeland and live his life with Jin as owners of the Jasmine Dragon.
- Jin - Zuko's love interest in his belief can result in helpping him start a new life as the owner of his Uncle's tea shop. Zuko used to go on a date with her in Ba Sing Se before the coup which was awkward. However she was the resulted in Zuko dating her and running Jasmine Dragon with her resulting in the plans to get Zuko to return to the homeland to blow up in Azula's face.
- Azula - Zuko's sister who is forced to have people capture Zuko and return him home to his father. Azula tried to return Zuko home because her father feared that Iroh joining Zuko during his banishment resulted in Iroh gaining an influence over Zuko.
- Mai - One of Azula's deputies and Zuko's now ex-girlfriend who was Azula's top deputy in trying to manipulate Zuko to come back to the homeland. However due to her failure Mai was suffering distraught over loosing Zuko her own childhood crush.
- Ty-Lee - Azula's other deputy who is a pro acrobat and a professional at chi blocking. Ty-Lee is mostly known for her cheery aditude.
- Iroh - Zuko's Uncle and Fatherly Figure whom he had betrayed after the coup of Ba Sing Se. He is now a prisoner of the Fire Nation as his nephew owns his teashop in his place with that nice girl known as Jin.
- Long Feng - The Earth King's former Grand Advisor who joined sides with Azula to get revenge on the Earth King for trusting Team Avatar instead of him. After being usurped of leadership over the Dai Li by Azula, Long Feng and Joo Dee were forced as breauacratic administrators of Ba Sing Se during Fire Nation rule.
- Joo Dee - Long Feng's brainwashed henchwoman.
