Queen Yuzhu is a character in Avatar: Age of Kyoshi. She is the Queen Consort of the Earth Kingdom and wife of the 46th Earth King. She is an NPC.
Appearance[]
The queen wears her gray hair in the signature liangbatou popular with women of the Hou-Ting dynasty, as well as a variety of robes befitting her great rank.
History[]
Lady Yuzhu was a daughter of the Governor of the Yang Province, and received the typical upbringing of a noblewoman: etiquette, society, arts, literature -- and she excelled at all of them. An ambitious young lady, she was sent to Ba Sing Se as a teenager with her uncle, and soon became lady-in-waiting to the influential lady Yixing Yum Soon Han, who recognized her political acumen.
Before she knew it, a recommendation was made to the Royal Family, and a marriage contract was arranged between Yuzhu and the Crown Prince. She was an excellent crown princess and queen, delighting the court and public with her dedication to the due rituals and ceremonies. Her husband quickly tired of both court and governance, and the queen soon became a leading figure at court.
Since the death of her eldest child, Prince Ling, the queen has privately been devastated, but puts on a smile for the nation. She has been quick to embrace the family's more constitutional role.
Personality[]
Queen Yuzhu is a prim and proper woman, but is also jovial and full of smiles. Whether this is genuine or a flimsy facade is anyone's guess.
