Yue Lao is a minor character in the fanon Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan. Yue Lao is the immortal of love once a deity in the Duryajian Kingsmen pantheon.

History[]

Not much is known about Yue Lao according to history he was once the god of love in the Duryajian Kingsmen pantheon long ago. Some say he was a hopeless romantic who struck a deal with Yun and ascended to godhood upon death.

The hopeless romantics or those with relationship issues flocked to Yue Lao for guidance or even for a love potion to make someone their true love. But often that came at a price, it is said he wears a red string around his wrist which he uses to invisibly tie two potential lovers together.

During the Qian Dynasty he is officially removed from the pantheon by the 32nd Earth King, who died alone and hailed no heirs. He shifted the blame to Yue Lao he could not find him his equal, and instead was replaced with the earth. The earth ascended into godhood and was named Shanshen, the god of earth. Yue Lao since has been forgotten and only worshipped by those who live in remote villages. The patron god of the Yaoping town citizens, his large rock can be found on the peak of Yaoping mountain. Said to be carved by the being himself.

Encountering Destiny[]

Aloi and Jushi ventured to Yaoping mountain because Aloi was on a quest to save her relationship with Unaraq. She and Jushi met the red-skinned immortal of love, Yue Lao, gave Aloi advice on her relationship and offered her a love potion which she could obtain from a store in the town or deal with her relationship.

Aloi took the potion option and Jushi tried his luck at the being and inquired about his future if he would die alone or eventually get married. The spirit gave him a prediction of the future but then caught himself and then claimed it to be a lie. He told Jushi that he was going to have a son that would be the spiritual adviser of the next Avatar.
