Yeman is the fifty-seventh Earth King of the Oma Kingdom and successor to the 56th Earth King Gun Kuiwu. Yeman is a minor character in the fanon Avatar: Civil Strife.

History[]

Yeman was born in 1935 BG, to Earth King Gun and Queen Consort Dai Hau although he was born a non-bender which disappointed Gun. He wanted a strong earthbending son to rule the kingdom. However, his brother Cai Dao convinced him to give the child a chance. Yeman was put to training before a tutor and learned basic fighting with a shortsword before learning to read. At the age of five, his little sister Chu Zi was born always promising to the Earth King his father that he would protect his sister. By the time he reached his fourteen years of age was a master axeman and was strong enough to wield a waraxe. Growing up he also liked languages besides fighting. So he learned the dialects of all the barbarians across the Oma Kingdom.

His father Gun eventually passed by the time he was a young adult, Cai Dao his uncle vowed to advise his nephew just as he did his brother. His uncle was the one whom coronated him as the successor to Gun, Yeman prayed with his people and sacrificed a wether-swine to Tian Fu. He finished the ceremony by drinking spirits inside a golden chalice given to him by the Queen Mother.

No Good King[]

Since the abrupt death of Earth King Gun, Yeman has been flung into the world of a king. While he's spent most of his time with his father, Yeman felt as if what he's doing at the moment isn't enough to fill the boots of Gun. Because of this Yeman bottles up his emotions instead of healthly releasing his emotions in front of the Court of the Clans.

Not wanting to be seen as weak had been over two months before he expressed his emotions in private. A flashback that plays back in his head is one where he believed he never received his father's blessing. To which Cai Dao explains to him that while Gun never shared his feelings that he always held good opinions of Yeman. Yeman suffers from anxiety in his current situation but eventually mellows out when he begins to fill those shoes. The only person that seemed to have an issue with Yeman, is Mong. The representative of the Uuguul clan, however, he's in the Court on his own agenda.

Coming of Age[]

During Chu Zi's coming of age, Yeman served as the traditional guide for the celebration, announcing her in the arena and orchestrating the beasts she would battle. He also assisted his mother and uncle in speeches, while in the evening he kept mostly to himself. While everyone else had a blast he instead kept to himself as he thought about his father.

Bu Lu's Treachery[]

Bu Lu returned to Omashu after the great loss at Garsai, as a trusted general of the Triumvirate he was to report his loss of the capital to the Earth King. Bu Lu was embarrassed with failure that he had the audacity to lie to Yeman. Lao caught him in the lie and interrupted his report. Men from his armies reported the failure to him long before Bu Lu returned to Omashu. This resulted in anger from both Lao and Yeman which resulted in Yeman decapitating Bu Lu.
