Wuji Beifong is a master earthbender and metalbender and Patriarch of the Metal Clan. He is assigned as the earthbending master of Avatar Xiao.

History

Although the descendant of the founder of Zaofu, Wuji rose through the ranks due to his leadership skills and metalbending prowess, being chosen by the other members of the clan upon the retirement of the predecessor. His status as a Beifong lent himself to being the friend of many influential figures across the world, such as Lidana Sato.

In 282 AG, Wuji was appointed the earthbending master of Avatar Xiao in a compromise between the executors of Avatar Korra's will. He welcomed Xiao and his friend Pei to the city, bringing Governor Po with him. He trained Xiao intensively, assessing his modern earthbending form from Republic City and advising him to learn the potent traditional form, directly imitating that of the badgermoles. All the while, he instructed Xiao in spiritual matters, as well as world politics. By summer's end, Xiao was adept in traditional earthbending and had begun to grasp the basics of metalbending.

Once the scandal broke about Xiao's mother using the White Lotus's treasury for her legal expenses, Wuji informed Xiao that they would take a trip to the south to get away from the paparazzi in the city.
