Water Tribe pantheon are minor characters that are never physically seen in the fanon Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan, except for Akna. The pantheon consists of seven gods and the chief deity, five of the deities are actively worshipped while the other two are not. They are the gods the Water Tribesmen pray to for things, and each one has controls something that is part of the Water Tribe culture.

Origins[]

They are all to be considered children of Tiandi, Akna is the Water Tribesmen version of Tiandi's wife Nugua. These two deities gave birth to all others except Kura-Kura who is an offspring of the Lion Turtle Jianhuren.

Agloolik[]

The god of the hunt and fishing, Agloolik, blesses all hunters and fishermen with a bountiful catch. Often depicted as saber-tooth walrus leopard the most dangerous predator of the arctic wildernesses of the South and North Poles.

Akna[]

Akna the Mother Bear.

Akna the Mother Bear.

The mother bear, the goddess of love, fertility, and children. She blesses all pregnancies, children, and relationships. Often depicted as a polar bear, in physical form and others have said another physical form of Akna is a short chubby old woman. Akna blessed a terminally ill Tanaraq and cured her of the sepsis she was born with. Changing her hair color from a dark brown into a snow-white color.

Unirak and Amka walked into baby Tanaraq's room to find a celestial polar bear walk through the walls of the newborn princess's chambers and disappear. Akna became Amka's patron deity having an eternal thanks for blessing her child. When Amka died, Tanaraq continued the worship for Akna for her mother.

Anguta[]

The gatherer of the dead, he who leads the newly deceased into the Spirit World and protects them as they cross the Bridge of Death into the Spirit World. If they don't cross with the assistance of Anguta, lost souls could drag them into the Fog. Often depicted, as a person who's body cycles through a baby, young woman, and an old woman.

Atshen[]

Atshen, the god of bloodbending.

Atshen, the god of bloodbending.

Worshipped by the ancestors of the Northern Water Tribe when bloodbending was a common sub-bending technique. Atshen is no longer worshipped by modern Water Tribesmen, and his worship was banned during Avatar Anana's lifetime. Where Anana and Chief Shesh banned the practice of bloodbending, Atshen's worship or even mention of the word. Renaming it the Forbidden Art, soon after the War of Blood and which led into the Blood Cultist Trials.

Sakana is a known worshipper of Atshen, it is known to keep the voices and insanity at bay one must venture to a shrine of Atshen on annually on the night of the Blood Moon to make an offering to Atshen.

The offering to Atshen consists of small amount of the person's blood into a cup on the altar to reduce the voices and allow the bloodbender to continue living in peace. Other known worshippers were his father Aipalookvik and his adoptive mother Aumanil. Depicted as a wolfbat in physical form.

Kura-Kura[]

Kura-Kura, the Lion Turtle of Water.

Known as the lion turtle of water who allowed the first Water Tribe settlers to live on the back of Kura-Kura and even granted the ancestors the power to manipulate water.

He was the guardian who granted the ancient Water Tribesmen the power of water, this was the lion turtle who granted Wan the ability to bend water on his journey becoming the first Avatar.

After the Water Tribesmen left the back of Kura-Kura they traveled to the North Pole where they began their society as the Water Tribe. Kura-Kura is the same lion turtle who calls Aang, to gift him the ability to energybend. So that he could defeat Ozai without killing him.

La[]

La, the Moon Goddess.

La, the Moon Goddess.

The goddess of the Moon and Peace is one of two spirits that reside in the Spirit Oasis at the North Pole within the Northern Water Tribe's capital city, taking the form of a white koi fish with a large black spot on its head. Together with its counterpart La, Tui was among the first spirits to come to the mortal world, and the pair have kept balance ever since in an "eternal dance" of push and pull. As the Moon Spirit, Tui was the first waterbender and the root of all waterbending; in the event of Tui's absence, waterbenders lose their bending ability. Depicted as a white koi fish.

Thousands of years ago, La and Tui decided to manifest themselves into the physical world to benefit mankind, taking up residence in an alcove of the Northern Water Tribe's capital city, Aupaluk. They created the oasis in the North Pole and took the form of two koi fish. Thereafter, the Spirit Oasis became the city's most treasured landmark.

Torngark[]

Torngark the demon god of tricks.

Torngark the demon god of tricks.

The demon god of tricks he was once worshipped by the ancestors of the Water Tribes when they all resided in the North Pole. Torngark is blamed for all the accidents and natural disasters that occur around the world. The Water Tribes believe he is the cause of all things making Torngark an evil deity.

The Water Tribes often use his name in vain to curse others and use it in the form of a swear word. Now in modern times, during the Spring there's a holiday where Torngark is revered and the people of the Water Tribes prank each other during that one day. Often depicted a short cyan-skinned goblin with yellow eyes.

Tui[]

The god of the Ocean is one of two spirits that reside in the Spirit Oasis in the Northern Water Tribe's capital city at the North Pole, taking the form of a black koi fish with a large white spot on its head. Together with its counterpart Tui, La was among the first spirits to come to the mortal world, and the pair have kept balance ever since in an "eternal dance" of push and pull. Depicted as a black koi fish. Along with his other counterpart they helped the first waterbenders master the art of waterbending.
