He was the 178th avatar and the 46th fire avatar, and the 62nd fire lord, alongside being the only fire lord avatar in history.
History[]
Early Life[]
Avatar Wang was born into the Fire Nation Royal Family as the only son of Fire Lord Zai, in a time where the fire lord was still the chief fire sage, with the fire nation being a theocracy ruled by the fire sages, when his identity as the avatar was confirmed, he set out to master the other three elements and the avatar state, whom he completed in 1675 BG.
Life as Fire Lord[]
Five years after Wang became a fully realized avatar, Fire Lord Zai died, and Wang was crowned as the 62nd Fire Lord in 1670 BG, he bought the fire nation into a time of great prosperity, while subsequently neglecting his avatar duties in favor of his royal (Fire Lord) ones, which became more prevalent as he aged, Avatar Wang eventually turned the fire lord into it's own position, splitting it off from the fire sages, transforming the fire nation from a theocracy to an autocratic empire controlled by the Fire Nation Royal Family, he eventually died in 1607 BG, and was reincarnated into Avatar Amapriyar of the Western Air Temple, while his son, Fire Lord Kaizu succeeded him as fire lord.
After Death[]
After his death, Wang became a revered figure within the fire nation, to the point when Fire Lord Taiso (father of Fire Lord Sozin), hoped his son, Sozin, would be the next avatar due to Taiso learning about Wang in his records in the dragonbone catacombs.
Appearance in the animated series[]
Avatar Wang appeared only in The Legend of Korra when Korra saw visions of all the Avatars before she got her bending restored by Aang at the end of Book 1: Air.
