| — Tuuluuwaq tells Anana after his mind has been completely taken over in Chapter 10: The Forbidden Art |
Tuuluuwaq is a waterbending master eager to discover and master more sub-bending techniques of waterbending. He's Avatar Anana's husband and main antagonist within a chapter where reviews her life with Rong Yan, in the fanon Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan.
History[]
Early Life[]
In his early life, it is known Tuuluuwaq was involved in Anana's life, where he played the bully role. Often bullying the poor girl without knowing she was ever the Avatar. He was also four years older than her.
He was born to middle-class citizens and his father signed him up for Master Keirou's Waterbending Institution, where he met Anana. Tuuluuwaq was born a prodigy, eventually mastering waterbending at the age of 17 after Anana left to master the four elements. Becoming one of Master Keirou's favorite students, he took over after Master Keirou retired from training waterbenders.
He was shocked when he discovered that Anana was the Avatar after the elder shaman announced her status during the Glacier Spirits Festival. Ashamed that he bullied her and humbled when she didn't smite him for bullying him. He grew to like her and missed Anana while she was gone that he waited for her until she returned.
Several years later, at twenty-seven-winters-old, he met up with her parents on the day Anana would return from the Eastern Air Temple. Reuniting with her their love sprouted for each other when Anana pulled him in for a kiss. They wed after several months and a year later, she gave birth to Nanuq.
Discovering an Ancient Tome[]
While Anana was pregnant with Nanuq, Tuuluuwaq would often join his friend Hakoda to gather meat for extra money at the behest of Chief Shesh. Not returning for days at a time, he finally returned from one of his hunting trips one day with an ancient tome he found in a cave.
The tome was put together by a person with scrolls, letters, and an assortment of other things written by the author and various other people who contributed to the creation of it. The tome contained an ancient waterbending sub-technique form known as bloodbending. Bloodbending allowed the user to bend the blood inside the individual they choose to control their bodies by force.
While Tuuluuwaq's intentions were to use its varying skills to heal and aid others eventually when he taught others the form he created a law enforcement force that went out on full moons to catch criminals. Drastically, lower the crime rates within the Southern Water Tribe as others feared being caught by the bloodbenders. Even during times of festivities, they would perform plays with volunteers to entertain the children. He went ahead and taught his wife to bloodbend, making her one of the few Avatars that knew how to bloodbend.
Cult of Atshen[]
One night Tuuluuwaq's brother Ynook was arrested for theft and thrown in prison when Tuuluuwaq learned of the arrest of his brother he pleaded with Chief Shesh to release Ynook but he refused. In the heated moment, Tuuluuwaq used bloodbending against Chief Shesh and Miki threatening to release Ynook or else they would get hurt.
Guards ran to Anana and told her what occurred she was ordered to kill Tuuluuwaq. She defended the chief and his wife, allowing Tuuluuwaq to flee. But she refused to kill him and allowed him to live. Giving Tuuluuwaq the ample time to use his mind to call his followers where they all fled alongside with him into the arctic wilderness outside the city.
Rumors around the Oma Kingdom that spread to Anana reckoned that an ice fortress floated near the coast and was never in one spot. The ice fortress was investigated where a survivor fled after watching his companions get murdered by witches.
Anana gathered a group of her bending masters and went to find the ice fortress until she learned from the governor of Chaopin, in Tu Zin, that the ice fortress crashed on the largest island of the Chaopin Isles. While the village on the island was not harmed, the villagers were terrified after learning from the governor that it was a cult of witches.
Anana battled Tuuluuwaq along with his cultists in a large scale battle that could be seen from Tu Zin. Anana prevailed in the battle at the end. Taking Tuuluuwaq as her prisoner and removing his bending from him.
The Forbidden Art[]
Tuuluuwaq would stand trial along with any surviving cultists, Shesh wanted to execute Tuuluuwaq along with his cultists. Anana begged Shesh to allow Tuuluuwaq to go into rehabilitation, after agreeing Tuuluuwaq lived with Anana under house arrest.
Anana and Shesh formed a new law in the Southern Water Tribe where bloodbending will become illegal. They renamed it the 'forbidden art', any bender caught speaking of it will be arrested and find themselves in prison for up to a year and fined a thousand gold pieces. And bender caught bloodbending was executed. This led to a period of time where the citizens of the Southern Water Tribe, would accuse their neighbors of bloodbending called, 'The Forbidden Cultist Trials'. Leading to many wrongful executions, Shesh reformed the law if someone is accused of bloodbending there needs to be evidence of it first before execution can occur.
Death[]
Two weeks after the ending of the Forbidden Cultist Trials, Tuuluuwaq left a note for Anana and Nanuq detailing about his feelings and what happened seven months ago. He apologized to his wife and son in the note claiming his mind was not his own. Anana was notified during a class she was teaching that her husband killed himself and his body is being extracted by the royal guards from the canal near their home.
Abilities[]
Waterbending[]
Tuuluuwaq was born a waterbender and trained under Master Keirou along with Anana in the Southern Water Tribe capital, Iqaluit for many years. Mastering waterbending at the age of 17, he became Keirou's assistant in classes. Eventually, when Keirou retired he gave his school to Tuuluuwaq who later expanded from waterbending and snowbending to other arts such as healing where he learned from his friend Yakone.
Snowbending[]
All waterbenders from the Southern Water Tribe are required to learn how to snowbend as it teaches them to create shelter and use ice offensively and defensively.
Healing[]
Tuuluuwaq learned how to heal from his long-time friend Yakone who also teaches a few classes at the institution.
Plantbending[]
While not many plants survive the arctic wilds of the South Pole, it was known Tuuluuwaq knew how to bend plants and even extract water from plants use for other purposes.
Bloodbending[]
While Tuuluuwaq's intentions were to use its varying skills to heal and aid others eventually when he taught others the form he created a law enforcement force that went out on full moons to catch criminals. Drastically, lower the crime rates within the Southern Water Tribe as others feared being caught by the bloodbenders. Even during times of festivities, they would perform plays with volunteers to entertain the children. He went ahead and taught his wife to bloodbend, making her one of the few Avatars that knew how to bloodbend.
He also used bloodbending to heal others as described in the tome, many illnesses like sepsis, and blindness. It was also used to bend the blood back inside a dying person and heal the arteries or capillaries within the body.
