Taishan is minor character in the fanon, Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan. He was introduced along with his gang triad in Chapter 3: The Oppressed, as Sunhuai's right muzhi.


History[]

Before Taishan was in the Yapo Triad he worked as a miner within the Agrarian Zone of Ba Sing Se. Taishan was the foreman of the Laogai mines owned by the Earth King, where prisoners once worked.

He worked there most of his life beginning at the age of twelve. Through hard work, he's accomplished many things on the job eventually being promoted to foreman. As a foreman, he was being paid starvation wages when Qiang Zhen rose to power. Something that normally people who were uneducated believed to happen only when a new King was crowned.

Years of struggling to survive on the starvation wages changed his entire worldview and he knew if he wanted something he needed to pry it from the government's cold dead hands. He joined the Yapo when it first started. Taishan gained the trust of Sunhuai and later became his right-hand man.

Abilities[]

Taishan was born an earthbender and he used his skills for mining although now with the help of former guards. He's utilized his abilities for combat purposes, Taishan also has the skill to climb on walls. Something he's taught the recruits on how to do, which also includes shoes made of earth to slide down walls. Taishan climbs the walls of the Lower Ring every day for practice.
