Shenjing, known as Shenjing Village in its early years, and later as Shenjing City, is a key location in The Legend of Xiao.

History[]

After Tokuga's insurrection, the Air Nation took control of the Republic City spirit portal. As the spirits were wary about humans entering their world, only the most important individuals and dedicated scholars and clerics entered the Spirit World. Eventually, a band of spiritual humans from all four nations proposed that a small settlement may be established in the Spirit World: a human presence in the spirit plane, to mirror the Spirit Wilds in the material world. Those who signed up to start for the village were known as the Spiritsworn, and lived by a code that revered the spirits in all matters of everyday life.

A few huts were constructed out of wood from material world, from trees that had been blessed and replanted after being cut down. The first few years of establishing the city were wrought with one-sided conflicts from the spirits, and in one such incident, a girl named Lai was deformed, yet was blessed with clairvoyance and slow aging. Eventually, she would become the village oracle.

By 282 AG, Nuzhe was a key leader in the village, thanks to his advanced, spiritual earthbending techniques.

By 373 AG, Shenjing had grown to a true city, and was the home of Avatar Toshi.
