Shaila Yakuto is a curvy strong firebender, who is friends with the current incarnation of the Avatar. She is currently in a relationship with the Avatar's best friend and brother, Kensi Firestone.
Physical appearance[]
Shaila is a curvy short-heighted girl, with a well endowed body. She has pale skin, black hair, and golden orange eyes. She frequently has some red cheeks, since she blushes a lot of times. Her hair is short, only falling at the height of her shoulders in a bob haircut, with a lot of fluidity shown.
When in her normal attire, she tends to wear a red T-shirt which slightly pronounces her curves given her body size, dark short jeans, and black glover showing her knuckles and her finger-tips. In formal attire, she wears lipstick, gold earrings, and a pink dress with a push-up top; she also fixes her hair to have less volume with a hair band. And, she always wears a flame-like necklace with a small golden sun hanging in the front.
History[]
Early Life[]
Shaila's family, The Yakutos, are from and primarly reside in the Fire Nation city of Akahime. When she was young she sarted attending school in Republic City, specifically the Dragon Flats Borough so she, acording to her father Jeong-Ho, could grow up in a more diverse background. There she met Bultina, with whom she developed a strong friendship, as well as meeting the group comformed of her, Hikar and Kensi, the latter with whom swould eventually start forming a serious romantic relationship.
The whole group would eventually enroll in the Republic West High School. During the following years, Shaila started a Pro-Bending team with her partner Kensi, as well as his brother Hikar; the three of them founded the "Titanium Armored Tigerdillos", naming the team after their Tigerdillo Nikumi, and winning their first regional tournament under Hikar's captaincy.
254 AG[]
By the end of spring in 254 AG, after a rappel activity with her friends, Shaila, her partner Kensi, Bultina Silverfox and Tao Tenba, witnessed Hikar, who was an earthbender for a long time, firebending for the first time into a bush the river, after him suffering a small emotional crisis. They all went to the closest police department to report the event that his earthbender friend was also a firebender, and thus, the Avatar. Such news were so quickly reported that a member of the White Lotus who was present, immediately took Hikar to the presence of Asami Sato. After that, her, Kensi and Bultina were left in the city reporting the news to their close circle.
Before Hikar permanently left Republic City, Hikar singled out Shaila to thank her for her positive influence on Kensi, noting she helped him "turn to a better person."
254-257 AG[]
After Hikar's departure for his Avatar training, Shaila and her friends committed to being his support system.
Shaila remained dedicated to her goal of study informatics, all while she, Kensi, & Bultina, as well as the support of Kosen, formally decided to form and be part of Hikar's Team Avatar.
257 AG[]
After finishing high-school, Shaila enrolled to study informatics at the Azula Insitute of Technology. Her romantic relationship with Kensi Firestone remained strong, and she passionately welcomed him back from his waterbending training in the Southern Water Tribe.
The return of the Avatar prompted a secret and serious discussion between Shaila, Kensi, and Bultina, where they affirmed their joint commitment to protecting Hikar. It was Shaila, along with Bultina, who officially proposed the title "Your new Team Avatar!" to Hikar, solidifying their role as his dedicated allies.
Shaila faced her first major confrontation as a member of Team Avatar at the Rhynoki Pub when Hikar was ambushed by the mysterious "Red Airbender." She and Kosen were prepared to join the fray with their bending, but they were held back by Kensi and Bultina, who insisted Hikar should face his initial enemy alone.
Shortly after, she witnessed Hikar's first public battle against a masked assailant known as "The Red Airbender". Then, a second hooded figure, a bloodbender, arrived and paralyzed Hikar and his friends; as the bloodbender removed Hikar's bending momentarily, witnessed how Bultina was the only one who partially retained control over her body. After Hikar's unconscious brief activation of the Avatar State restored his bending. The team, including Shaila, then immediately mobilized to handle the aftermath and assist the affected civilians.
Personality[]
Shaila is a passionate and intensely loyal girl, whose core personality balances emotional commitment with sharp intellectualism. She is supportive and affectionate, particularly within her relationship with Kensi, and is valued by her friends for her ability to provide guidance and a steady, positive influence. She possesses an astute and analytical mind, seen in her choice to study in informatics and her tendency to process information logically under pressure. This intellectual rigor makes her the group's chief observer, allowing her to detect crucial details that others miss during the chaos of a confrontation. Shaila displays a quiet and growing confidence in her abilities and her role, enabling her to maintain composure. She serves as a grounding force, ready to provide objective facts or necessary emotional support. In a fight, she is prepared to use her intensity as a weapon.

She can launch thick fire streams and seems to have an agile ability to extinguish fire and not making them spread.
She's the only known firebender to have shown capability to firebend a trademark yellow fire, hotter than the average firebending.
Lightningbending[]
It's known she has the ability to generate lightning, while she doesn't usually use it, but she's known to be very strong at it.

- Kensi Firestone: He's her long time boyfriend, and seems they've been together for a while and are capable of bending simoultaneously and coordinated.

Trivia[]
- Shaila's name 曬拉 (Shàilā) is a phonetic transliteration, or approximation, of the sound "Shaila." The characters were chosen for their sound, where 曬 (shài) means "to shine/bask in the sun" and 拉 (lā) is a phonetic particle. Her surname 藥斗 (Yakuto) means "Explosive Measure" in Japanese, where 藥 (Yaku) refers to "explosive chemical" or "gunpowder."
- Her design was another one which changed the most from scratch, since in the beginning she was depicted as a strong willed athletic girl, and that was straight out copy from a different character. The author later changed her to a chubbier version, and more introverted, to represent the insecurities one of his friends has with her body.
- Like Azula, Rangi and Zuko, she's one of the few firebenders seen to bend colored fire, with her's being a signature yellow.
- In the beginning, the author planned to make her the Fire Princess, but the idea was escraped in late production because it was irrelevant and too coincidental to be true.
- She shares voice actress with old Toph, from Legend of Korra: Kate Higgins, who is also known for voicing Sakura Haruno in Naruto.
