Samati is a master earthbender and metalbender and second-in-command of the Metal Clan. She is assigned as the earthbending master of Avatar Xiao after he leaves Zaofu.
History[]
Samati was born without her right forearm, but made use of a bionic metal prosthetic. She discovered her talent for earthbending at a young age, and her impediment forced her to use metalbending as an extension of herself. She moved to Zaofu as a student, and in a few years, had risen through the ranks to become the second-in-command of Wuji Beifong, and head of construction in the city.
When Xiao arrived in the city, she took an interest in his friend Pei, instructing her on how to use power armor in construction.
After Xiao passed a preliminary earthbending test, Wuji advised Samati to go to the Fire Nation so that Xiao could perfect his form. Xiao found training with Samati to be insightful, as he saw how she used metalbending in her daily life with her prosthetic. He found training under her to be far more rewarding than his firebending training under Fire Lord Zenzo, who only taught him a cultural side of the Fire Nation for a long amount of time.
