History[]
Early Life[]
Osla was born in the normal sense of life for Air Nomads. She was raised at the Western Air Temple and became a sufficient airbender. She impressed many leaders of the Western Air Temple. She was fast tracked and trained regularly. When she was a young girl, she met a toddler named Cori. Even though an age difference they played together. They were like family to each other. As she got older, she worked harder. Osla became one of the best students for her age. When she was a teen however, she slowed back down and fell in with the rest of the back.
Rise of the Deathbenders[]
One day while out for a walk, Osla saw someone kidnap an Air Nomad child. She pursued them, but Osla was knocked out in a fight with the THIEF. She was dragged back to the Central Air Temple. In a dark room, she met Wong. Osla agreed to do what ever they wanted, if the children were freed. She foolishly trusted Wong's word. Over a couple month period, she was captive. On the day before her release, she was brainwashed and given a task. To assist in the kidnapping her childhood friend and the Avatar's grandchildren.
When she returned, Osla forgot about most of her time there and kept positive, hoping she would save some lives. When she met Cori again, Wong saw it as a threat to her program, so he kidnapped her again and made sure his plan would be flawless. She successfully stopped anyone to get involved in the kidnapping. She also tricked Baizken, the Avatar's other grandchild, into traveling with her to the Central Air Temple. When they arrived, Baizken lost a duel with Wong and was captured. Osla was heartbroken to find out that Wong had lied to her. The children were now mind controlled like her. She ran off into the wilderness and hid.
However, she mustered up the courage to go back and save Cori, Finosa, and Baizken. She was able to save Finosa and Cori, but Baizken was trapped in a rematch with Wong. They were to able to hide in the temple for awhile. Wong caught up with them after he seemingly killed Baizken. Wong that suffocated Osla to death using the dark tactic known as deathbending.
Abilities[]
Osla was a pretty proficient airbender. She could easily air swat targets from great distances even as a child. Her air shields and dodging were pretty good, however her form needed a little extra work.
Personality[]
Osla was once a joyful, free spirit. After the brainwashing, she became much more conflicted and depressed. Once her mission was over, however, she was able to be hopeful enough to push Cori and Finosa through the temple.
Trivia[]
- Osla's name was originally Cori's skybison.
- She was originally going to be the children's age, but Kuzon decided it would be more fitting to have a more mature character.
- Kuzon may have cried while writing her deatm, but he won't tell
- She is the first character to officially die solely to deathbending seen in the series
- Her abilities often fluctuated in the creators mind. She was once a nonbender. Then a soundbender, before finally just a normal airbender.
- Osla is one of the only characters brainwashed that are reoccurring
