| ""I didn't come all this way to have an ignorant man tell me that my name isn't feminine. The tedious process of changing one's name is far worse than getting a new identity from the Mother of Faces!" |

A noble family in a town seventy miles south of the capital city, Hou Tian. As a child, Nu Xing, wasn't much interested in masculine things like learning war, military, sparring with other boys. Nu Xing enjoyed spending time with her mother playing with her makeup when her parents weren't around, wearing specific pieces of her mother's clothing or even wearing a hairpin with feminine decorations on it.
Several years later, into Nu Xing's life she realized that her entire life was about living a lie. She didn't feel like a man, her thoughts, her desires, and interests were all feminine. Since she was a child she knew she liked all these things. Without the medicinal advancements during this time period she felt she was trapped in a body that wasn't something she wanted. When Nu Xing came out to her parents her father disapproved and said she would be the laughing stock of the entire town. While her mother Jin Qin was more supportive of what she wanted to achieve in life.
