Okay, I lost the notepad, so I'm starting again. I have another idea, but it seems to be easier to write stories in present tense at the moment, so I think I'm going to do that. I told Roca that it would be July, and it will be!

Okay, I rescind my previous statement. This isn't going to be in present tense unless I end up changing that in editing. At the moment, I'm just writing the bare bones, honestly. I'll write it up (and hopefully finish it tomorrow), and then add all the details in editing. I foresee a few rounds of that. May also ask another user to go over it, too. I realised that I have like, a single scene down the line planned, but I have no idea how long it will take to get there. Probably not as long as I would like. Characterising Long Feng is hard :/ and it's AU, so getting that right is... difficult.

Okay, wooh, this story is making.... some.... progress. For some reason, I suddenly got motivated (looming deadlines will do that to a person) and so I'm actually making some headway. Aang has finally been introduced, but 1,000 words in, it's still entirely scene-setting stuff. It is important, I know, but at this rate I have no idea how long it's going to be. I'll get 5,000 words in and get bored of it, but I promised, so I know I have to complete it. I will. I will do it.

Okay, in order to finish this by the end of July, I need to force myself to write at least 500 words a day. I have no idea how long this will be, but considering it's a Taang fic that involves double-crossing, and Toph and Aang haven't even met each other yet... well, at almost 2,000 words, I just know it's going to be long. Dammit, I shouldn't have procrastinated so much. On the other hand, I'm really happy with the idea and plot, so there's a positive :)

Okay, this story seems to be moving now. I just had to write a substantial amount of something that was easy, I suppose, in order to get those creative juices flowing. Toph and Aang are now aware of each other, but they still haven't 'met'. I was at a skating rink tonight and had a really awesome epiphany; the trick will be to develop the characters enough in order to make that work. Roca did specify 'double-crossing', and I do believe that will be the hardest thing to do. I'm running out of time, I know, but this needs to be long + well-written, because otherwise, the story will fall flat. I need all this build-up :/

PART ONE IS DONE! I've figured out that there will be four parts in all, with probably the second or third being the longest. It is currently still planned as a one-shot, though. I am having a bit of... family drama at the moment, so that will definitely affect my writing. That being said, I'm feeling really motivated, so that will help.

Preview
The water lapped gently along the banks of the Nan Shan river. The moon was covered by thick clouds that brought not only darkness, but also the promise of rain. It was under this thick veil that a small, metal boat sailed.
It travelled slowly downstream, three of the four occupants searching the inky blackness for any sign of their destination (although the word was far too simple for what they had in mind). The current picked up, a smooth transition from slow to swift that caught the sailors unaware before they became used to the change and fell into the steady rhythm. The boat rounded a slight bend in the otherwise straight river, and the shortest of the group cried to the fourth occupant in a hushed whisper.
"I see it, Sifu!" she cried softly, sitting down to remove her fur-lined shoes. Amidst the cries of doom and dark poetry, a cheshire smile emerged.

An Azula/Toph one-shot that has been sitting on my computer for spirits only know how long. I plan on dissecting this story and trying again, because I actually love it. I have no plans on turning it into a serial story. I also seem to have no plans to actually write the dang thing. It's one that I think I'll need to completely reformat to get what I want out of it. I'll keep you posted here.

Roca dos wrote me a very good one-shot about 'Toph going on a date and the guy doesn't show up', and then I read a chapter of another story where she isn't stood up, but the guy makes it clear that he regrets asking her. These pieces had inspired me to write a piece similar to, but not the same as, those. What if Toph stood up the guy?
Specifications:
Setting: Republic City
Plot: Several months after the birth of Lin, and the death of her husband, Toph agrees to go on a date with someone she has developed rather strong feelings for. That's why she had to screw it up before her heart was broken again.
Major points: Nothing too big. Probably the word count (I aim for this to be a fairly long one-shot) and the order of events. I doubt it will be completely chronological.

Okay, this story is having a massive refit, because I was able to write 5,000 words of Tokka smut easy, but when I want to actually develop characters, it's not working. What's this? A TophxOC story? Yep. It actually started out as a Tokka fic, but when I introduced a new character, I fell in love with him, just as Toph did :3

Setting: Unnamed Earth Kingdom town
Plot: Sokka couldn't help that he constantly hurt Toph, but that didn't make it any easier for her. So, she left, vanishing into the night. Months later, they meet up again, but he is gone the next day. Toph can't move on by herself—so, someone has to help her.
Major points: No major plot points yet. It's kinda written in the same vein as My Meathead.

Plot: Sokka and Toph watching movies. Well, him explaining it to her. Psh, in the dark, with close proximity? Yeah, this isn't gonna end well...
Major points: characterisation regarding Toph, in particular. She is her own person in this story, and while I have moulded her on the canon character, there are some major differences in her history that have led to significant changes in her character.

This story is currently undergoing a major revision. I want to increase the wordcount from 47,000 to 60,000 without adding new chapters—basically, I want to add more description and scene-setting material. There are 19 chapters currently released, so it shouldn't be too difficult (technically) to do that. I just feel like there are a lot of gaps in the descriptions and stuff....

Wow, it's been a while since anything new has come of this. I've recently had a few issues with both myself and the story that made me basically not want to touch it, but now that both are sorted, I'm back into it >:D The next chapter will either be published tomorrow or... in the far future. Tomorrow really is the only time I have to work on it before school takes over my life again. But, I'm 900 words into it and the only reason I'm stopping is bed time ^^"

Warnings:
This story has a few trigger warnings, mostly due to Toph's ongoing depression. There are a number of mature themes that aren't suitable to anyone under the age of 13, with references (and scenes) of sex and drug use. It is rated PG-13, and nothing is stated explicitly, however the warning still needs to be given.
Epilogue[]
I already know there is going to be an epilogue. Depending on how I end the story, it will either be Sokka trying to get over Toph, or them trying to build a life together. Who knows? It will be written as a separate one-shot, and if it is the latter, will either be not posted on the wiki or heavily censored (and I don't think I'm going to want to do that, so it might be a story for FFN :/ )

The Àrnadalr Experiment[]
My NaNoWriMo story for this year. Was originally conceived as an ATLA OC story, but I think it works better as a Frozen AU.
Specifications:
Setting: Dystopian!AU
Plot: Elsa is a genetically modified human and assassin. Her professional name is Ice Queen, for reasons beyond her cold demeanour. She is tasked by Hans, the leader of a guerrilla group known as OLAF (Organisation for Liberty and Freedom), with killing the Queen, the ruler of the world. Thought of by most to be benevolent and wise—the bringer of peace in a world only recently torn by war—the Queen is known by others to be ruthless and unforgiving. People are dying and disappearing all over the city, and it's up to Elsa to put an end to it.
However, she doesn't know everything, and when she accidentally takes Princess Anna from the palace, mistaking her to be the Queen, there's very little she can do. Unwilling to kill an innocent girl (and not get paid for it), they flee together. There's something strange about Anna, and nothing is adding up. Like, why has no one ever heard of her, and how come the princess recognises Elsa from a photograph shown to her a decade prior? How is this even possible when photos became outdated centuries ago?
On the run from the Queen's forces, OLAF, and their own dark secrets, the two must find a way to end the war still raging underground and out of sight.

Okay, so Elsa. Basically, what happened is her mother was one of the people to be originally experimented on. The experiments resulted in parthenogenesis when Elsa's mother's cells did something unexpected (and never-before-seen, and never-after-replicated). Elsa is the first successful example of parthenogenesis, and the scientist wanted to find out why her mother was so special—why is happened only to her. So, she was experimented on. Unfortunately, the experiments went wrong, and when Elsa was born, they discovered her new, unique traits. Her mother died when she was 8, prompting Elsa to run away. She was able to steal much of the information on her that they had collected, using her ice-powers, until all that remained was her name and that single photograph (because they had been at another location). So, the Queen has still been looking for her after all these years because their genetic code *is* breaking down. They need a way to make it reproduce naturally, and they're convinced that Elsa holds the secret.

Anna comes in and sees an adorable Elsa, that makes little noises of annoyance and frustration, trying to move her ears with her fingers.
Heat prompt: Pomeranian AU. Imagine Anna comes home from a long day at work and notices something is odd when Elsa is much more affectionate. The next day she asks some coworker if he knows about those symptoms, like Elsa rubbing herself all over Anna's body, and the coworker tells her that her "dog" is probably in heat.
Laundry prompt | (chapter 4): Pomeranian AU: Elsa feeling depressed that Anna seems less affectionate since she turned human waits for Anna to come home. Anna returning from her part time job and seeing Elsa buried under her laundry like she usually is whenever she gets scolded. Because that must have been awkward, waking up to a naked woman on top of her, chasing her through the house trying to put clothes on her because Rapunzel could show up any minute. (ANNA CHASING A VERY EXCITED AND VERY NAKED ELSA AROUND HER APARTMENT HOPING TO GOD RAPUNZEL DOESN'T WALK IN BECAUSE HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT TO SOMEONE) (And it would take a while for a flustered Anna to figure out why there was a naked Elsa lying on top of her. Vet or Doctor?: Pomeranian AU: Elsa gets sick and Anna doesn't know whether to bring her to a doctor or a vet for like a full hour before realizing that it would be weird to bring a person to a vet. Okay, I thought of this story after smashing my way through Blade I and II, X-Men, and the three story-lined Underworld films (you know which ones I mean).

Plot: Elsa (more commonly known as 'Ice Queen') is the nice kid. She's a little quiet and reserved, and doesn't really approach people, but that's okay because she always has a little smile and mischief for them anyway. Enter Anna, appropriately-nicknamed 'Feisty Pants', a cheerful, happy-go-lucky new kid who just wants to make friends. However, things aren't always as they seem; especially not when things like 'superpowers' and 'mutations' get thrown into the mix.
