Melody Hira'a was a Fire Nation noblewoman of both Water Tribe and Fire Nation ancestry, being the maternal granddaughter of Avatar Kuruk and Kamaria. She was the love interest and wife of Roku, the only daughter of Kyoka, and the mother of Serafina. Posthumously, Melody is the maternal grandmother of Ozai, and the maternal great-grandmother of Zuko, Maya, Melody II, and Azula. Melody was a caring and compassionate woman who cared nothing for the war and did the best she could to make her people more comfortable, despite being the wife of the Avatar.
Throughout her life, Melody had become known as a master herbalist, actress, and healer, and had opened a greenhouse with her husband, where they raised their daughter, Serafina. She managed to live long enough to see Ozai reach ten years of age before passing away in her sleep.
