Meinu is a minor character in Avatar: Civil Strife, she appeared in Chapter 6 as part of tall tale shared by Shuaige.
History[]
Meinu was a beautiful noblewoman in her early thirties who never got over her bad break up with another noble. Her ex-lover moved on with another woman that was far better than Meinu. Meinu is self-absorbed and cares not for anyone but herself and her family. Her father requests that she take a contract to the Middle Ring to convince the shopkeep to give up their business.
Meinu had a reputation to use herself to allure the men, and intimidate the women and force them into contracts they'll never get out of. Her behavior and actions eventually caught wind of the Choulou. A benevolent spirit who punishes the prideful, she was mistakenly dropped off in the Lower Ring. Where she ended up getting lost and then stumbled upon an old man. The old man falls and the noblewoman in her disgust refuses to aid the dirty old man. When she runs off, he follows her in his true form as he appears to be a primate-like spirit with three eyes and one horn.
The Choulou possesses Meinu's body and transforms it to punish her for her misdeeds. Forever changing the woman, she felt as this day was a nightmare until she looks in the mirror. One good look makes her scream and causes her to run further into the Lower Ring never to be seen again.

Meinu was born a non-bender, it is unknown if she knew any combat skills. Meinu is skilled in business, she serves a business dealer for her father, as they take over smaller jewelery businesses across Ba Sing Se.
