Maya Northuldra is a submissive firebender born to Bato and Ozai Northuldra as their first child. She is the older sister of Melody II, and the younger maternal half-sister of Zuko and Azula. By extension, she is the sister-in-law of Sokka and Katara, the maternal great-granddaughter of Avatar Roku, Toph Beifong's adopted younger sister, and the aunt of Saoirse, Amaya, Kida, and Kiara.
During the beginning of the series, Ozai was still pregnant with Maya, so she wasn't really present until her birth in Ba Sing Se at noon. As the direct descendant of two Avatars, Maya grew up to be an incredibly skilled firebender.
Sometime during her late teenage years, Maya eventually married an earthbender named Kyomi, and they had a daughter, who they named Yue ll, after the Northern Princess.

Birth and Early Life[]
Maya as an infant
Maya is the firstborn daughter (b. 100 AG) of Avatar Ozai and Bato of the Southern Water Tribe, born in the Upper Ring of Ba Sing Se at midday during the Spring Equinox. Her birth was said to be a miracle and was one of the first children to be born of water and fire.
In her first months of life, Maya traveled with her mother, older brother and sister, and their friends; trying to end the Hundred Year War. When the war finally ended, Maya returned to the South Pole with her parents, brother, and sisters.
During her early years, the first five years after the war, Maya had instances where she sneezed sparks, a sign to her parents that she would be a firebender. However, there were a few instances where she would sneeze snow flurries.
Childhood[]
Even though she loved practicing her bending, Maya still knew how to have fun.
When she wasn't practicing her firebending with her mom, Maya was either playing in the snow with her family, or spending time with her older brother and sister. She was always smiling and laughing and cared very much about her family.
When her older brother and sister had children of their own, Maya was very excited and soon, had two little half-nieces to teach what she knows. She was loved by everyone in the village for her upbeat attitude and optimism, but her temper was scary. However, Maya was still a kid, so she was also quite mischievous and eager for new adventures. At the age of four years old, Maya gained a younger sister, Melody ll.
Later life[]
Maya and Kyomi had a daughter by the time they entered their twenties: Yue.
When Maya succeeded her 18th birthday, she met an earthbender at her birthday celebration named Kyomi. The two fell in love with each other at first sight and married on Maya's 20th birthday, bringing a daughter into the world after two years of marriage.
