Luca is an adopted child who used to live in Yu Dao and is the current incarnation of the Avatar in the Fanon Luca's Odyssey. Luca is very positive and optimistic. He is joined by Kelsang, Pama, and Ryu in his journey to master the art of earthbending, as requested by him due to his hesitant behavior.

A few years later, Luca made it his mission to free Kyoshi Island from the tyrannical rule of the Chin Government because of unwanted tax increase, rumored slavery, and political oppression. It was because of Ryu getting kidnapped by the dynasty to try and ransom the White Lotus into banishing their Order from the Island for good.

History[]

Early Life[]

Luca was born on 250 AG in Republic City shortly after Avatar Korra's death. He was adopted by Ayala, a former police officer in Yu Dao. Although Luca's parents remained unknown, one thing was for sure; Ayala found her lying down the road, left to suffer.

Luca was well aware of his status as an adopted child because Ayala did not want it to be kept a secret to avoid his status to be a burden in his life. He was taught how to garden earth lilies, which became the reason why Luca quickly chose 'Earthenlilly' to be his dummy surname in an interview in Republic City.

254 AG[]

Four years later, Kelsang starts the search for the Avatar in Yu Dao. Having to stumble upon Luca, Kelsang asks him a few questions. He answers with confidence and chose the betrothal necklace and the watch from the chest full of Korra's jewelry. Later that night, Luca's house was being ransacked. Luca saw Ayala lying down in bed, bleeding and full of bruises, and caused Luca to enter a breakdown that caused him to trigger the Avatar State, making him the youngest to do so. Pama manages to calm down Luca and he collapses to the ground.

Personality[]

Luca is a very optimistic child, often calling himself a happy-go-lucky kid. He quickly moves on from sad experiences, but any experience that involves a loved one dying can take him years before he's able to . He does not usually look at the negative side of things, too. He is highly sociable and fun to be with, though he might get disobedient at times.

Luca is known to be a really honest child for his age. Every time he knows someone is lying, he spills out the truth. One good example was when Luca interrupted Kelsang's interview in Republic City and told the world what really happened to him. Being an honest man also caused him to spill to Ryuka his true feelings for her.

Abilities[]

Earthbending[]

Luca is considered to be great at earthbending at such a young age. It is his hesitance that drives him to master the art of earthbending with the help of Master Kuvira. He earthbended for the first time after getting mad at Kelsang for not allowing him to go outside the White Lotus compound again because of the possible consequences it may deal with him.

Metalbending[]

Around 6 months prior to the events that should occur in Book 1: Chapter 5, He started his metalbending training. Although it was hard for him in the first couple of days, it did not take long before he gets the hang of it, though, and eventually became more used by Luca than earthbending itself.

Past Life Memories[]

Luca remembers everything that happened in his previous life, as long as he is presented with something significant to him in Korra's lifetime, such as the necklace and the watch. He was the first Avatar to have the ability to fully remember his past life, too. It is the only thing that Raava can preserve for the next Avatar because of the cut connection so that Luca won't have the need to call on a past Avatar for help, and instead, use something significant as a tool to remember what Korra did in her lifetime to solve her problems.

Trivia[]

  • Luca is derived from the name Lucas which means lux in Latin. Lux means 'Light' in English, which makes perfect sense of what the Avatar Spirit is.
  • Luca's positive attributes, such as that of being playful and being optimistic, are inspired from that of Lucas The Spider, which also had the same positive attitudes.
