By Waterkai and Vaznock Part of the Kyoshi Revolts continuity.
Waterbender
"Today men, we fight for our tribe and for our lives! Many of us will die, but we'll never give up hope, dead or alive!"
— Kishi to his pupils right before battle.

Kishi was one of the greatest Waterbenders in the Northern Water Tribe. He was a kind, peaceful, and timid man. He was one of the people who traveled with Pakku to the Southern Water Tribe. Ozai eventually killed him in an invasion of his tribe.

History[]

Background[]

Nothing is known about Kishi's background, other than he was born and raised in the Southern Water Tribe. At the age of 8, he began his Waterbending tutelage under the tribe's master, Pakku. He quickly rose to become Pakku's best student, and eventually rose to be the second best Waterbender in the world.

Death[]

Main article: Destruction of the Water Tribes

One day, a very much feared invasion was led by Phoenix King Ozai, who had a hope of destroying the Water Tribes and killing Kishi. Kishi's pupils fought well, but were non-the-less horribly outnumbered. Meanwhile, Kishi found himself fighting the Phoenix King himself. The fight was fierce, and Kishi actually held his own against the King. Ozai, however, finally killed Kishi by zapping his feet with lightning, and then fatally burning his body with Firebending.

Legacy[]

Kishi was well remembered by all of the surviving Waterbenders, and his courage inspired them to start a near-successful rebellion, though it was thwarted by a general Ozai hired, Yi. The few tribal members that survived still remember Kishi, and strive to regain his honor and his tribe's honor.
