Kensi Firestone (KEN-see), is a young male waterbender, best friends with Avatar Hikar Firestone, to whom he's his adoptive brother. Originally born in the Northern Water Tribe from unknown parents, he was adopted by the Firestone family after Hikar was born. He's exceptionally good at waterbending, having unlocked it at the young age of 5.
Physical appearance[]
Kensi is a tall, Water ethnic young man of athletic built, and a firm stance. He has the typical looks of a Water Tribe person, that being: brown skin, blue eyes, and dark brown hair.
He wears three outfits: one for the Water Tribe, consisting of a blue anorak with a blue mark in shape of a "V" to represent his rank as a waterbender master, under which he wears a light blue turtleneck shirt, thick boots and a loose coated pair of pants. For his typical outfit, he tends to wear a blue T-shirt which features an image of La in the chest, as well as a pair of jeans and blue sport sneakers. For his formal outfit, he wears the same blue turtleneck, and wears a tied blue tie, over a black-blue smoking, as well as black trousers.
History[]
Early Life[]
Most of his past is unknown, he was adopted by Vona and Sterkur Firestone right after Hikar was bornshortly after Hikar was born, effectively making him Hikar's adoptive brother. He grew up in the coastal city of Yetai Tong alongside Hikar, his adoptive cousin Denryoku, and his friend Bultina Silvefox, with whom he had a great relationship.
Kensi was present in 244 AG when the White Lotus visited his home as part of their search to determine the identity of the new Avatar, ultimately focusing on Hikar.
A couple weeks later, his dear cousin Denryoku passed away alongside his mother Shera in a a mortal car accident, a loss which affected him, but especially his brother. After that tragic event his family and the Silverfox Family moved to Republic City's Dragon Flats Borough to start anew, where they eventually enrolled in the Republic West High School. During the following years, Kensi started a Pro-Bending team with his brother Hikar, as well as his new girlfriend, Shaila Yakuto, a firebender Bultina befriended in their first year in the city; the three of them founded the "Titanium Armored Tigerdillos", naming the team after their Tigerdillo Nikumi, and winning their first regional tournament under Hikar's captaincy.
254 AG[]
By the end of spring in 254 AG, after a rappel activity with her friends, Kensi, his partner Shaila, Bultina Silverfox and Tao Tenba, witnessed Hikar, who was an earthbender for a long time, firebending for the first time into a bush the river, after him suffering a small emotional crisis. They all went to the closest police department to report the event that his earthbender friend was also a firebender, and thus, the Avatar. Such news were so quickly reported that a member of the White Lotus who was present, immediately took Hikar to the presence of Asami Sato. After that, him, Shaila and Bultina were left in the city reporting the news to their close circle.
Before Hikar permanently left Republic City, Hikar singled out Kensi to thank him for everything, as his brother and loyal companion.
254-257 AG[]
Following Hikar's departure for his Avatar training, Kensi remained a crucial figure, acting as Hikar's emotional anchor and closest confidant. Kensi was dedicated to increasing his own capabilities, stating he was "willing to become stronger" to support his friend, as he directly talked to Iruka Sato to teach him master levels of waterbending.
This commitment led him to eventually achieve the rank of a Waterbending Master. He was instrumental in forming the group that would support Hikar, agreeing with Bultina and Shaila to formally become Hikar's new support system.
257 AG[]
Kensi was designated by Iruka Sato, Hikar's waterbending master, to serve as Hikar's final opponent to test his mastery of the four elements. The duel, which took place at the Northern Water Tribe training field, was a close, high-level bending match. Kensi demonstrated a defensive and strategic style, successfully using the icy environment to counter Hikar's offense, creating a water jet, and immobilizing Hikar in a block of ice. The duel was declared a tie by Iruka Sato, which was sufficient to recognize Hikar as a fully realized Avatar.
Shortly after completing his master training, Kensi returned to Republic City from the Southern Water Tribe. Alongside Shaila, Bultina, Tao, and Kosen, Kensi officially greeted Hikar upon his return to the city at the Rhynoki Pub, where the group announced they had held a secret meeting and officially declared themselves the new Team Avatar.
Immediately following the reunion, Kensi witnessed Hikar's confrontation with the mysterious "Red Airbender". Kensi and his friends initially respected Hikar's decision to fight alone. However, the duel was interrupted by the sudden appearance of a second hooded figure, a Bloodbender, who paralyzed the entire group and surrounding people. Kensi was the first to recognize the source of the paralyzing pain, exclaiming, "This…feeling…it can’t be!".
He and the group were briefly held immobile while the Bloodbender attempted to energybend Hikar. Kensi was freed when Bultina broke the Bloodbender's grip. After the assailants retreated, Kensi and his friends rushed to Hikar's side. He stood with the group as Bultina declared it was "time for the new Team Avatar to go to work," officially stepping up to their responsibilities by helping the injured civilians.
Personality[]
He appears to be a chill person with a kind heart, who likes to tease Hikar and sometimes takes things a bit too literally. Nevertheless, he enjoys his company, and it seems being in a relationship with Shaila and the loss of Denryoku changed him for the better.

Waterbending[]
Since he was a kid, he always knew how to control his art. Given the fact that he was raised in an earth family, his waterbending is highly influenced by the Firestone's earthbending technique.
He manifested a quick agility interms to turn off a fire in a matter of seconds by using a big amount of water.

- Hikar Firestone: His best friend and adoptive brother. They have a teasy kind of relethionship as brothers as Hikar seems to like to annoy him and vice-versa.
- Nikumi: Always played with him since he was a kid, and still is one more friend to him.
- Vona & Sterkur Firestone: Even though he always knew he was adopted, he didn't care, and all their life were like father and son, reason why Kensi directs to them as "mom" and "dad" instead of calling him by his name.
- Denryoku: They didn't share many moments alone, since Denryoku never showed that much of interest in him, but they seemed to have in common that they loved teasing Hikar. After he dies, it pulled an emotional toll on Kensi, just like Hikar had, that he eventually managed to fill with his girlfriend Shaila.

- Shaila Yakuto: She's her long time boyfriend, and seems they've been together for a while and are capable of bending simoultaneously and coordinated.

- Bultina Silverfox: There's always a small rivalry between them and don't always seem to angage well, as Kensi always manage to pull on her nerves.
- Tao Tenba: Bultina's boyfriend, doesn't seem to be very fond of him as of now.

Trivia[]
- Kensi's name can be written as 劍士 (Kenshi), the Japanese word for "Swordsman" or "Sword Warrior." His surname 火石 (Huǒshí) means "Fire Stone." His name was originated from the Native-American name of "Kenai", though it was slightly changed since it's a popular name in the real world.
- In this storyline, he's the first LGBTQ character, the other ones by now are Hikar and Iruka.
- His T-shirt features an image of Tui, the moon spirit.
- He would share the same voice actor as Baatar Jr, Todd Haberkorn, who is also known for dubbing Natsu Dragneel in Fairy Tail.
- He's the first known waterbender to grow in a multicultural family based in Earth Kingdom culture. Unlike the Foggy Swamp Tribe, he's grown by earthbenders, and thus influenced in his bending style.
- Hikar and him, are thus far the only characters to appear in every episode. However, Hikar is the only one who manages to appear in the prologue as well.
