History[]
After the War, Katara along with her friends stayed in Ba Sing Se living peacefully in their home. During the seven-month period between the War and the Rise of Jun, Katara's romantic relationship with Aang grew to a very strong point.
One day while at the Jasmine Dragon, Katara and her friends witnessed a horrifying thing: the Royal Palace in flames. Katara along with the rest of Team Avatar and Iroh flew to the Royal Palace immediately. When they arrived, Katara worked quickly to put out the flames and once she did, the heroes proceeded inside. Once the body of the severely burned Kuei was found, Katara did the best she could to heal him but to no avail.
Very soon after, Katara encountered Fire Nation Princess Azula who had been freed from her mental institution and after a brief confrontation, watched her flee. It was then that she and the rest of Team Avatar decided that it was imperative to track Jun and Azula down before they could do any more harm.
Several hours later, Katara and her friends arrived in the Si Wong Desert so that they could find information on Jun. After a long time of searching, Katara and her friends found Fung who told them that the Order of the White Lotus had almost found Jun and his underlings. When they tried to leave, Team Avatar was attacked by the Rough Rhinos. Katara and Suki fought against Kahchi who was trampled to death by his own Komodo Rhino. After Mongke the only survivor escaped, Katara and her friends left the Si Wong Desert.
After the victory in the desert, Katara and her friends retreated to the Fire Nation Royal Palace to discuss tactics and relax. A week after they arrived, Team Avatar received a messenger hawk from Iroh that revealed the location of Jun in the Foggy Swamp. Katara and the others departed from Zuko's home and went to the Foggy Swamp. Katara went with Aang and Momo to start searching and after an hour, they had found nothing. Katara was then kidnapped along with Momo by Hong Wu, Jun's right-hand.
When Aang found her, she and the rest of her friends were tied to a tree with their hands and mouths tied shut. Aang freed Katara's mouth first only for her to tell Aang he had walked into a trap. After Aang was burned by Jun and teleported to the Spirit World, Katara was worried for Aang and wished he was okay.
