Kal is a seemingly laid-back and carefree person that is introverted by nature in that he greatly prefers his own company over the company of others. While he is an inherently quite a kind, passionate and spirited person, he often appears and is generally perceived to be anti-social, cold and arrogant. His sharp-tonged and sarcastic wit make him appear very rude and his proclivity for cussing and his constant dismissal of social cues makes him appear socially inept. He has a soft side to him, witnessed only around animals and.
Though he isn't the most talkative, he is a highly confident person, especially in regard to fighting, even going as far as to refer to himself as a fighting "genius". Whether he is arrogant or simply confident is subjective, one thing can be said about him - he strongly believes in his strength and his ability to persevere even when the odds are stacked against him prove he is above all else truly tenacious.
By his own admission he does what he does because he finds it fun and enjoys the freedom.
He seems to have chip on his shoulder and is constantly underestimated due to his and status as a nonbender. Because he thinks so highly of himself, he hates being underestimated, especially when the reason he is underestimated is the fact that he can't bend.
Despite garnering a reputation as a brutish criminal, Kal is very observant, especially in (and before) battle, always preferring to prepare himself to effectively combat his opponent by acquiring knowledge on them prior to the fight. Just by glancing at the eyes of another, he's able to deduce a surprising amount about them.

Combat Skills[]
Despite being a nonbender, Kal is an exceedingly skilled combatant that can fight on equal footing with benders. He seems to be particularly adept at fighting firebenders, possibly as they are the group he has the most experience with, in part due to his past dealings with the Agni Kai Triad.
Kal is excellent at parrying and countering his opponents attacks and this is the basic foundation of his effective fighting style.
Kal is superhumanly strong, being able to throw powerful punches and kicks with enough force to break bones and smash through walls. He can take out opponents twice his size with these strikes and severely injure and incapacitate opponents. He possesses well-trained reflexes that allow him to perceive high-speed movements to an impressive degree and dodge accordingly.

Most likely his most impressive attributes, Kal possesses an inhuman pain tolerance and indominatable strength of will.
