| "While there are some of our past lives who have allowed their morals to stand in the way, you must understand that as the Avatar you must do everything in your power to balance the world. Regardless of how many or who you erase from this existence, Tiandi will not be furious because he has allowed the Avatar to use their judgment to do as they please." |
| — Avatar Kaenakai told Rong Yan that the Avatar was granted the power to allow humans to exist in Chapter 11: The Aftermath. |
Kaenakai is the Fire Nation Avatar succeeding Avatar Bhudev, and preceding before Mun Jin. Kaenakai is also the Fire Nation Avatar before, Avatar Ilah. Kaenakai appears in the fanon Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan.
History[]
Not much is known about Kaenakai only what he had allowed Rong Yan to see, according to Kaenakai, in his life he eradicated the leading clan families. The clans of the Fire Nation were going to head into civil war once again over an incompetent Fire Lord.
Kaenakai established this new dynasty because the old one warred with the southern Oma Kingdom in an attempt to colonize Yokoya and Yang province for starters. Their desire to expand the Fire Nation and its glory across the globe was ended too quickly by the Fire Nation Avatar.
However, when he established the new monarchy he was not aware for long that the new monarch was also incompetent. The clans warred for a chance to have a sliver of power but as Kaenakai was a part of the Sei'naka clan, he replaced the Fire Lord with his daughter. Who proved to be much more effective. But this wasn't enough for the clans who vied for power, Kaenakai, used his abilities to do the Sei'naka clan's dirty work and killed all the leading families of the other clans.
He wasn't done he knew the corruption in the Sei'naka as well and even in the disapproval of the Fire Lady. He killed the royal family for they led the Sei'naka, he had left her without family. He arranged for her to marry within the clan another noble family which would lead her clan into the future.
Later in life, Kaenakai succumbed to stomach cancer and died at the age of 82. Kaenakai's work was cemented into the history of the Fire Nation. As an example, the power a native Avatar can wield over his nation. Hopefully to prevent future generations from committing a similar action.
Abilities[]
Avatar Kaenakai was known to be a master of all four elements and even of the Avatar State being able to enter and exit it at any time. Kaenakai's skillfullness in lightningbending was beyond what most lightningbenders could ever imagine to do at the time. He was able to allow the generated lightning to bounce off multiple enemies amongst other things.
At Avatar-level Kaenakai could summon thunderstorms and control it to target specific targets.

Avatar Korra's Life[]
During the time when Avatar Korra, had lost her bending to Amon, she had returned to the Southern Water Tribe or the compound she first was in, where Katara, had tried her best to heal Korra.
To no avail, Korra had left to cry at a snowy cliff, where she thought that Tenzin had approached her. When in fact it was Avatar Aang. She stood up, as Aang was conversing with her, and then all of Korra's past lives appeared.
