Jarue was a gifted waterbender from the Western Water Tribe. During the later events of Avatar: Macai's Journery Book 2, Jarue was sixteen years old. Making him the same age as Prince Zuko and a year older than Macai. Jarue was close friends with the Western Water Tribe swordsman Kaft who was a year younger than him. Kaft and Jarue had known each other since Jarue was five and Kaft was four.


During the 99th year of the Hundred Year War, a female of noble ties from the Northern Water Tribe named Serraj came to visit Jarue's birth village Eddam. Jarue and Kaft eventually became friends with the girl and went on several adventures with her for about a two months. During the second month of that time period, Jarue and his friends fought and defeated several Fire Nation army scout forces. Then Macai's 31st regiment arrived to annex the village.


Macai and his unit caused dealt great damage to the city and smashed the local military. However, Jarue and his friends managed to hold their own against Macai's forces and disrupt some of their plans. From that moment, Jarue, Kaft, and Serraj were high ranked targets on the Fire Nation's Most Wanted List. Though they still were not rated as high as Aang, Katara, and Sokka who were priority targets.


Unlike Macai, Jarue didn't have a lot of rank behind him. He was just a warrior but his creativity and insights made him very successful in battle. He and his friends often served as scouts during battle. After their skirmish at Eddam, Jarue's friends were promoted to Lieutenants in the Water Tribe while Jarue was promoted to a Captain.

Personality[]

Jarue was a calm, supportive, courageous, and persistent warrior. Jarue was a natural leader. Jarue was wise for a man is age and had much more spiritual wisdom than most members of the Fire Nation. Even characters like Rosh and Ty Lee had far less spiritual knowledge than Jarue.

Combat Skills[]

Jarue had waterbending skills that exceeded Katara during the first book of Avatar: The Last Airbender however, Kanna had more raw power than Jarue. Jarue was capable of holding his own against Macai in combat and besting Macai under the right circumstances. Jarue was incredibly adaptive in combat and had above average stealth skills. Jarue was faster than Macai, Kett, Katara, and a bit faster than Azula. Though Jarue was not as fast as Mai or Aang.


Jarue's speed was comparable to Ty Lee's. Jarue's agility was above Macai's and comparable to Zuko's. Jarue was less agile than Ty Lee and Aang. Jarue was a more patient fighter than Zuko and had great timing. However, Macai and Azula's timing was better than Jarue. Despite this, the nature of Jarue's attacks were difficult to defend against and reduced his opponent's abilities to time him. Jarue had average strength and physically was not as strong as Macai, Rosh, or Kett. Jarue's conditioning was respectable and he could fight for a longer than average time before tiring.

However, Macai had better conditioning than Jarue due to the constant training his father forced on him throughout his life.
