Fire Lady Ilah Caldera was the wife of Fire Lord Azulon, and the mother of Crown Prince Iroh and Princess Ursa. She was the mother-in-law of Ozai, and the grandmother of Prince Lu Ten, Prince Zuko, and Princess Azula. She was a caring mother to her son and daughter, who often took the role of mediator whenever any of her children had a quarrel with Azulon. Sadly, Ilah never got the chance to meet her son-in-law or her grandchildren as she passed away when Ursa was only thirteen years old. Her death had a profound impact on her daughter, Ursa, who was the sole witness of her passing, and was the subject of the latter's hallucinations.
History[]
Hardly anything is known about Ilah or her past, but it was said that she was the daughter of a famously wealthy nobleman and was known to be the most beautiful girl of her generation. When Fire Lord Sozin passed away, his only son, Azulon, became the sole monarch of the Fire Nation.
Knowing that the new Fire Lord was looking for a bride, Ilah took to studying the politics of the Royal Court and began etiquette lessons, from age 12 to age 19. But, after getting to know Azulon for who he was, the two slowly but surely fell in love and married the week before her twentieth birthday.

Following their marriage, Ilah gave birth to the heir of the throne, Iroh, in 32 AG and in 56 AG, she gave birth to a daughter, Ursa, who she was very close to. Illah had a close relationship with both of her children, but she grew to notice how much Azulon favored Iroh and ignored Ursa. So, she took to spending time with her daughter whenever she had the chance.
For many years, all was peaceful. But then, Ilah got sick and was confined to bed rest for an undefined amount of time. As winter drew closer, Ilah grew frailer and frailer, before passing away on the Winter Solstice with Ursa in attendance.
