Jiandie Fan is a former Yanzhao agent, he's a minor character in Avatar: Civil Strife.
History[]
There's little information on Jian but he served the Yanzhao for over eight years. After that he quit the spy agency and since then has hidden in Guandi, finding himself in a triad. According to word on the street, those who leave the Yanzhao are hunted down until they're dead. The Yanzhao refuses to allow a whistleblower to spill secrets about the secret police organization of the Earth King.
Encounter with Nu Xing[]
With connnections to Gan he agreed to meet with him or an associate of Gan to offer information for the steward of the Governor Lao Piao. Meeting Nu Xing, he seemed hesitant to give her his name. Jian relieved information to her about the Governor's steward an old man named Lao Piao, who frequented a cathouse named the "House of Ravishing Flowers". Her mission was to extract information from the steward about the governor, when she arrived to the establishment she discovered it to be a brothel. Only way to seek this was to gain employment here, after the inspection from the procurer and proprieter of the brothel, Zhe Caigou approved of her she was hired.

Jian was born a non-bender his skills are unknown but being part of the Yanzhao, it's assumed he knows counterintelligence tactics, and how to wield a jian sword.

- Fan Jiandie means "counterintelligence" in Chinese.
- Jian is one of the rare cases of Yanzhao who leave the organization and live. However, the Yanzhao track them down until their grave.
