Cuzhuang is a minor character in the fanon, Avatar: The Legacy of Rong Yan. He is Avatar Anana's earthbending master.
History[]
Only known history of Cuzhuang, so far is that he was Avatar Anana's earthbending master. Found and chosen by Peng of the Zu dynasty to teach Anana how to earthbend under his watchful eye. Under his tutelage, she mastered earthbending in two years. Cuzhang first appeared in Chapter 10: The Forbidden Art, when Avatar Anana had taken along Avatar Rong Yan with her to tour her life with the young Avatar.
Not much was shown of Cuzhang, but Anana and many of his peers could say he had a stubborn and strict personality. Being strict was one of his teaching tools for his student, and he also had taught Anana some maturity.
Not only did she grow better in her skills in earthbending but she did the transition from a girl into a young woman. She adopted the strict discipline, and wise to make great decisions from her earthbending master. Cuzhuang wrote a letter to his cousin Pang to allow Anana to live with her while she assisted the opposition against Yao.
The tools Anana learned from Cuzhuang had aided her and Rari with the protest against the Earth King of Ba Sing Se and had also helped her with coordinating the war with the bloodbenders. Another tool that was useful to Anana was learning remote earthbending, being able to manipulate earth from a distance where the earthbender believes there is earth around.
Blood War[]
Cuzhuang was spiritually linked to Anana, that she contacted him for his help in stopping her husband and the blood cultists. Cuzhuang was responsible for using sharp rocks to pierce the skulls of many bloodbenders killing them instantly. While he didn't participate much in the end of the battle against Tuuluuwaq it was due to Anana's husband knocking him, Hwa, and Huan Zhu unconscious.
Later Life[]
Cuzhuang grew old and died at the age of 84, from influenza his body unable to cure it. When Anana learned of her master's death it devastated her, yearly she visits his graveside near the Nong family plantation.
Abilities[]
Cuzhuang was an earthbending master found by Peng Zu to teach Anana earthbending after having defeated the six other teachers who were found and the king himself in a duel. Cuzhuang specialty was remote earthbending which he taught to Anana. Being able to manipulate earth from a distance where the earthbender believes there is earth around.
