The Council of Five are a group of Duryajian Kingdom general, under the command of the Duryajian King, they're minor character in the fanon Avatar: Civil Strife. The Council of Five, are the Duryajian Kingdom's highest-ranked generals, this council was founded thousands of years ago, by the first King of the Zhou Dynasty, Duryaja. After he defeated both the Shang and Xia Kingdoms and formed the Earth Kingdom.
History[]
This council was founded thousands of years ago, by the first King of the Zhou Dynasty, Duryaja. After he defeated both the Shang and Xia Kingdoms and formed the Earth Kingdom. As such, it is the highest authority in the Duryajian Kingdom military and oversaw the country's entire war effort throughout history. The Council controls the entirety of the Duryajian Army minus the Duryajian Navy which is led by a smaller council of admirals.
The Council works with the Minister of Defense within the city of Ba Sing Se, to command the City Guard, the Royal Guard, and the Provincial Guard. While the Yanzhao do not follow any orders unless they come directly from Earth King Shuicheng. In 1915 BG, the Council of Five are struggling to beat back the barbaric Oma Kingdom. The current Council was promoted to their positions after the previous generals were eliminated by Shuicheng and the Yanzhao.
Shuicheng believes this new set of five generals will do him well but only time will prove this, so far they have obtained a smaller victories against the Oma Kingdom and have only regained two provinces.
The Siege of Laofung[]
Colonel-General Liehou Shili successfully coordinated the defense of Laofung by deploying the Provincial Guard and eventually recalling one-hundred men to redeploy them as part of the Haijun Air Force division. Mounting the men on horned condors and ordering into battle, the Air Force turned the tide of the battle but dropping kegs of oil and bombs on their enemies forcing the Oma invaders to flee.
The Fall of Guandi[]
Lieutenant-General Lin Ninjing, unfortunately failed in the Battle of Guandi, unbeknowest to him and out of his control the Governor of Zhoukou province and the governor's chain of command were killed in an explosion set up by Fen Mo Fu, an Oma Kingsmen explosives expert part of the Oma Kingdom Military. The anointed commanding officer surrendering the city to the Oma Kingdom to save the lives of the soldiers and preventing a massacre. Eventually, when the general learns of this he seeks to siege the city again and retake it from the Oma Kingdom.
Liberation of Garsai[]
Colonel-General Liehou Shili successfully liberated the city of Garsai from the clutches of the Oma Kingdom. With over ten divisions of soldiers at his disposal, it only took the Haijunese army two days to take the city from Yeman. The liberation led to the assassination of Warchief Ni Bei Dou, the recapture of the Enclave and the temple, the cleansing of the Seat of Paragons, and parts of the Despairing Vaults under their control. With a rare appearance from lavabenders that tended to lower levels of the city coming to aid their Haijunese brothers. Earth Sage Zhanfu was selected as governor until someone more qualified was chosen.

- The names of the generals of the Council of Five, are inspired from Mulan's "I'll Make A Man Out Of You", each quality defining a man.
