Coral Elena is the chieftess of the Northern Water Tribe and the wife of Chief Arnook. She is the mother of Yue, Acheron, and Marissa Aquarius, the mother-in-law of Suki and Ty Lee, and the grandmother of Azulana, Phoebe, Glacier, and Amara.

Early Life[]

Coral and her husband celebrate that Tui saved their eldest daughter's life.

Coral was the daughter of another tribal chieftan, but traveled to the North Pole, where she married Arnook and gave birth to two daughters and a son, though their son passed away during his infancy. To keep her youngest daughter from feeling guilt over someone she wasn't old enough to know, Coral and Arnook forbade anyone from telling Marissa about Acheron.

For years, Coral and Arnook told Marissa that she and Yue were their only children. Yue pleaded with them to tell Marissa the truth, but she was ignored.

Kya resigned

Coral was distraught at finding out that her daughters have run away.

This decision caused a rift to form between Marissa, her sister, and her parents. The lie continued for thirteen years before the truth finally came to light after the siege of the North. When her daughters ran away with Team Avatar, Arnook and Coral were heartbroken and could only hope that she would eventually forgive them with time.


The whole time Marissa and Yue were gone, Coral could only think about how she and Arnook could apologize to 'Rissa for lying to her all these years.
