Chigun is a a young man who helped turn the tide of the battle in Old Towne during the liberation of Garsai, he's a minor character in Avatar: Civil Strife.

History[]

Chigun was introduced in chapter seven while he was arguing with his father about assisting the Haijunese army. The Eighth Division entered Old Towne and was immediately ambushed by forces that fled the Military Quarter and southern areas of the Farms. Chigun's father remained neutral in the matter in case the Omas stopped the invasion. To prevent the destruction of his home and the slaughter of his family, however, to his dismay his son waited for him to fall asleep to sneak out. Once Chigun escaped his home he plunged himself into the atmosphere of the battlefield that raged throughout the night.

With smoke from burning homes and charred corpses filling his lungs he was quickly overwhelmed by the smell. Chigun stuck to the rooftops as he waited and observed the battle. One by one he quickly eliminated archers from key points to help out the Haijunese in the western areas of the residential quarter of Garsai.

Eventually, he found himself near a tower with Xian history that involved the creation of the city. Oma archers surrounded themselves inside the towers while foot soldiers boiled oil inside cauldrons to dump on the Haijunese invaders. The Omas who were outside defended the tower but knew they were outnumbered twenty to five. From the perch he chose he hid behind a chimney and sniped archers from their posts, and even toppled over cauldrons which burned the foot soldiers inside the tower. After being discovered by an archer he was attacked by fire tipped arrows, with the purpose of burning the roof Chigun rested on.

The Haijunese attempted to keep the structure intact without much damage to it but the Omas cared less. After an hour or two of sniping, the tower is razed by the oil that burned around it and within however the tower remains intact as the Haijunese had wanted. Chigun while exhausted helped aid the advances of the Haijunese which won them control of the Old Towne quarter.
