Avatar Pozar (succeeding Avatar Meia, and preceding Avatar Sherpa) was born in 2864 BG into the royal family of a city that will later turn into the Fire Nation capital. At the age of 7, he had mastered firebending, learning it from his father (the leader of the Fire Nation capital at the time). When he was crowned leader of the Fire Nation capital in 2840 BG at age 24, he started a huge war against the other cities and peoples of the Fire Nation, known as the 40 year war. He first conquered most cities of the Fire Islands in the first 10 years of the war, with Hira'a as one of the last strongholds left against Avatar Pozar's army. When Pozar's armies took over Hira'a (the last stronghold against him), he successfully unified the Fire Nation in 2800 BG at the age of 64, with him being the head of the Fire Sages, which at the time, ruled the Fire Nation. Pozar's descendants still rule the Fire Nation to this day.
When he unified the Fire Nation, he then spread propaganda of the Fire Nation before unification being "total chaos" in order to legitimize the status of the Fire Lord, leading to the assumption of the Fire Nation before unification being total chaos and full of warlords vying each other for power (which wasn't the case).
Later in his life, Avatar Pozar (now Firelord Pozar), married his girlfriend at the time, which became the first fire lady, years later, the first fire lady gave birth to Pozar's son, which took place after Pozar's death.
Avatar Pozar died peacefully in his sleep in 2679 BG, and was reincarnated into Avatar Sherpa of the Eastern Air Temple, and after his death, his son took place as the second Fire Lord.

Avatar Pozar appeared in The Legend of Korra when Korra saw visions of all Avatars that ever lived before she got her bending restored by Aang.
