Hansuke is the Fire Nation Avatar succeeding an unnamed Earth Avatar, and preceding before Avatar Kavi of the Jongmu Air Temple. Hansuke is also the Fire Nation Avatar before, Avatar Masaru. Hansuke is a supporting character in the fanon Avatar: Civil Strife.

History[]

Not much is known about Avatar Hansuke, although Avatar Keirou warned Avani about listening to Hansuke. Avatar Hansuke's cause of death is unknown however, he died at the age of forty-one. According to Avatar scholars, Hansuke is one of the worst Avatars known to history. The current leadership in the Fire Nation hasn't acknowledged the existence of the Avatar and therefore don't have a painting of him on the walls leading to the throne room of the Fire Lord. Hansuke hints to Avani that his cause of death was alcohol-related, but didn't go further into detail.

Spooking his Successor[]

Upon arriving to the encampment in northern Pingyao, Avani has seen a Fire Nationalist in the camp. When she brought it up to her new friends, she was told she was crazy because Wei, one of the men that works with Captain Qishi proved there was no Fire Nationalist on the list of soldiers in the camp.

Later that evening, she was spooked by the same Fire Nationalist in her tent and she caused a commotion that resulted in Captain Qishi having the men search the camp for an intruder that didn't exist. Eventually, when Avani communed with Avatar Keirou she learned that the Nationalist was one of her past lives, Avatar Hansuke.

Avatar Hansuke, abruptly interrupted their meeting and took over the veil replacing Avatar Keirou to introduce himself to the young Avatar. Both Avatars fought to share information to their successor, with Keirou warning Avani to stay away from Avatar Hansuke because his slopiness and idiotic advice caused the death of his successor Avatar Kavi. It is also unknown, how Avatar Kavi died, but it is known he died in his fifties.

Cheaters Never Prosper[]

While his successor refused to give up in a fight, Hansuke popped into existence to chime in and assist Avani. Hansuke joked to Avani and told her that if she lost to a non-bender at least he wouldn't have to be the worst Avatar. He shared advice and told her to dislodge a rock out of the ground in front of Taobing; to trip the Lei Tai champion and give her the advantage to knock him out. Although to Avani's dismay, Shuaige noticed the illegal move and called her out on it. Resulting in Avani being caned sixty times as punishment.

Butting Heads with the Captain[]

When she and Shuaige travel to the town to speak to Magistrate Minsheng. Avatar Hansuke takes control of Avani and forces her to speak to Shuaige, which eventually leads to her apologizing and forgiving Shuaige. Baoshou discusses all the bad things that Avani has done to Shuaige during training that was under an unexplainable result caused by Avatar Hansuke's hijinks.

Protecting His Successor[]

Despite being the reason why Avatar Kavi failed, Hansuke has tried his time with Avani and hasn't given up. Meanwhile, Avani was being fed drinks by the by the successor of the Biaoqin family, Congxiong. Hansuke noticed something was afoot, Avani was being taken advantage of by the nobleman while in a drunken state. When Congxiong reached out for a kiss from Avani, he came face to face with pale-skinned Fire Nationalist instead a brown-skinned Haijunese woman. Avatar Hansuke hinted to Avani what led to his death was drinking, indicating that perhaps he was a drunk.

After much distress Avani calmed her new friend down and they took another few drinks. Congxiong tried again but this time Hansuke controlled Avani and water whipped Lord Biaoqin across the face which angered him and caused him to berate her for assault. Shuaige came to the rescue and stepped in for his friend.
