Plot: Set in the far future, Avatar: Retribution tells the story of a young boy who stumbles upon a secret that has been lost for generations.
After a Civil War erupted in the Earth Kingdom, a new nation was born. Tsuchi Kanji. Adapting technology used by the Fire Nation in the Hundred Year War, Tsuchi Kanji became very powerful. They eventually marched upon Republic City, which lay on their borders. Republic City fell, and the Avatar at the time, was called upon to restore balance. The Avatar assaulted the Tsuchi Kanji leader, who backed by an entire army, had the upper hand. The Avatar, unable to win, entered the Avatar State to defeat is foes, but was killed by a fire-bending soldier.
The Avatar fell and the cycle was broken.
With no Avatar to restore balance, the nations of the world declared war on Tsuchi Kanji, in hopes of restoring balance themselves. The events of the war are unknown, but resulted in the complete destruction of the Four Nations. All technology was lost and the world entered the Dark Ages. The Avatar was remembered as the man who failed the world, and through time, was forgotten.
And eventually, the art of bending, was also lost.
