The Aupaluk's Royal Family is the current royal family that resides inside Royal Palace of Aupaluk. The current dynasty begins with Chief Akitla, the family tree is said to expand to the first chief of the North, Suvillik. While others claim that is not the case.
History[]
While the family claims their family tree goes to Chief Suvillik the very first chief others claim they don't. Although the royals are buried along with the other chief ancestors in the burial cavern near the Spirit Forest in the Aupaluk region.
Chief Akitla[]
It all began with Chief Akitla he was the nephew of his uncle who held no heirs but placed the boy into his will. Akitla would receive the inheritance of the throne and begin a new dynasty in the North. Akitla was born in 837 BG, the era of Avatar Anana seven years after she battled Hundun and his twin brother Dinggou.
His uncle died in 820 BG, Akitla at the time was seventeen when he took the throne, criticism struck the former chief soon after his death. About not having heirs, the man was infertile and his wife died earlier of a type of cancer.
Akitla established his reign and ruled for forty-one years, he was assassinated in 779 BG by Qiangdian assassins hired by Earth King Wang. The cause of Akitla's assassination was because Akitla illegally established Water Tribe colonies in the Bai Da province. Among other crimes, of course, the colony captured a village in the Bai Dai province. Eventually invading Jun Lao and assassinating the governor in the capital.
Chief Bato, Son of Akitla[]
Akitla was assassinated which then placed his heir apparent on the throne for fifty-eight years. War began with Chief Bato when Wang was still ruling the Qiangda Kingdom in 748 BG. This was known as the Thirty Year War which ran from 748 BG - 718 BG. Wang dies in 742 BG of old age, his son Ta Po assumes the throne. The Northern Water Tribe and the Qiangda Kingdom were deep in the war already six years in.
Chief Nanuq and Chieftess Kya[]
In 721 BG, the chief dies of illness and then his brother Chief Nanuq takes the throne. He ruled until he died of a heart attack in 703 BG. The war ended under the rule of Chief Nanuq, and Earth King Ta Po. His heir apparent Cupun was almost two-years-old. His wife chieftess Kya began her rule as regent chieftess from 703 BG until 690 BG when her son became of age to take the throne from her.
Chief Cupun[]
Kya abdicated the throne in 690 BG and allowed Cupun to take the throne where he ruled as an effective chief for quite some time before he too stepped down to join the fight of the Northern-Qiangdian War in 655 BG. The war lasted three years it began in 657 BG after his nephew Amak was assassinated by a third-party and Qiang Zhen's cousin, Baotong, the prince was assassinated as well. Except the blood price wasn't enough for Qiang Zhen as ten daofei were killed during the deportations which happened when the Court of Elders panic voted on deportations under the agenda of Elder Noa. Cupun was the only chief in his bloodline to be challenged to an atanerkugia.
When punishing Noa to death, he challenged Cupun in the sacred duel to the death for the throne. Noa a waterbender was chi-blocked by Elder Hasook the Younger's grandmother, as is rules since Cupun was a non-bender. Cupun was the clear warrior and slew Noa, then stripped Gilik, his seat in the Court of Elders. After Noa's death, Elder Siku was promoted to Head Elder of the Court for her bravery and loyalty to the chief, which gained her position as adviser to the chief. When Chief Cupun left to war, he left Siku to substitute as Regent-Chieftess.
Chief Tulok[]
Chief Tulok took the throne in 655 BG, when his father Cupun abdicated his throne, Elder Siku stepped down as regent-chieftess. His wife Chieftess Tanaraq was three months pregnant with his heir to the throne. The Northern-Qiangdian War ended on a ceasefire which both Qiang Zhen and Tulok agreed to for the being. The ceasefire would allow Avatar Rong Yan to kill General Senlin.
